92 vigor brake lights are out I have checked and changed all bulbs, fuses and brake switch on the pedal. Now I tested the plug on the brake switch for power. 3 of the 4 were hot but not the white/yellow that is supposed to be. Now I dont know what else to do. Any ideas?

TLX vs. BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (sedan)
Anyone cross shopping the BMW 4 Gran Coupe to the TLX? I would love to hear opinions! I know it gets very expensive with packages!

What to look for in used RL
Sorry if this is too basic a question, did a search but I couldn't find the answers I needed. I'm looking at a 2004 Acura RL with 94K miles on it. Anything in particular I should be looking for? Other than the usual (oil leaks/water leaks/weird worn tires/brakes/suspension/etc.)? Thanks for your assistance.

OT: Electrical wiring question
Wondering if there is anyone with some wiring experience here to help me out. Unrelated to my acura RL, but maybe a tech is on here.
Have an issue with two bulbs, type 74. I can't get them to light in the pictured configuration. Blue is hot and brown is ground. I have tested both sockets as pictured and individually and no light. I have continuity on the ground side and on the blue side, but no continuity between blue and brown, which means no short occurring so that's good. Power source is coming from a car jumper: Red is hot/pos and attached to blue wires, black is ground/neg and attached to brown wires. Could both bulbs and or sockets potentially be bad? Anyway to check the sockets for power with a DMM?
The lights stopped working because of a ground short at a switch on the circuit, that was unfused (caused a small fire and melted the switch). Basically, these lights were dash lights, controlled by a headlight switch. You turn the headlights on, these lights are supposed to come on. Can a socket short out?
Is my wiring right? I think it is, but just need a sanity check.
Thx and sorry for the off topic post.

Dropped screwdriver bit while changing air filter
I changed the air filter today on my TL and while trying to get one of the screws holding the filter housing out, I managed to drop the screwdriver bit like this one:
It didn't drop far, but I could see or find it and I feel pretty stupid about it.
I started the car hoping it's somewhere close that it could be shaken off and drove around my drive way. No luck.
I assume it will eventually find it's way out, but is there any danger of it getting somewhere it shouldn't on that side of engine?
Also found this little guy under the filter:

2015 TLX Advance V6 Bellanova White Pearl/Ebony :
I forgot to take some pics of the interior today since I was in a hurry. :tomato: I'll add some pics of that possibly tomorrow if I get the chance.
The tint was added by the dealer, so I have no idea what it is or the transmittance values. I was kind of disappointed it was added before-hand, but it looks alright, I guess. Shout out to Walmart for the beautiful backdrop ...

My impressions - test drive 4 and 6 tech
I went by the dealer to drive the two "test drive" vehicles. A white/espresso 4 tech and a black/black 6 tech. They had a limit of 10 miles, which was mostly highway unfortunately, but still gave me a good chance to check out the car.
Background: I have a 07 TSX auto which has been a great car. I like the way it feels, drives, and sounds. The interior electronics layout is almost what I consider perfect. There's nothing wrong with my TSX, so the only thing pushing me to a new car is tech, performance, and size (family is growing).
Interior
Hard plastics - I immediately noticed the hard plastics, and it reminded me of the plastic-heavy Honda pilot we have. The use of glossy buttons, particularly the AcuraLink buttons seemed like a step back. I like soft touch, and that is missing in half of the controls and surfaces.
Mirror reflection - yes, it is there. It is also there on my 07 TSX. The use of metallic trim is unfortunate and I don't really like the shiny outlines. I'd much rather have the black bezel around the vents. Not a show stopper, but a little annoying.
Interior colors - Espresso seemed like an off combination of black plastics, brown leather, and the wood trim. Oh that wood trim, how I detest wood trim anything. Looks so cheesy, and the Espresso color scheme just didn't fit together well. Black interior was a lot nicer in my opinion, and the wood trim didn't look as bad, though I'd prefer a darker stain like what they did on the Honda Accord.
Interior space - I like the space, seating, etc. Nice touch on the LATCH access in the back. Bigger than the TSX for sure, but doesn't drive as "large" as a TL did.
Controls - Moving controls to a central screen would take some getting use to. I miss buttons, though there are some. Navigating controls was almost completely intuitive, but there were some things (like having to scroll to exit in the MID in order to exit the menu) and setting up the NAV that took some "figuring out".
Lane Assist - Freaky. Really freaky. It actually works fairly well, at least on the highways here. The salesman actually did a "ok, take your hands off the steering wheel" bit and the car drove itself. The resistance in the steering wheel when changing lanes was interesting as well.
Blind Spot - lights up a lot. Does it do this whenever a car is present? That would be very annoying in traffic to have the orange indicators constantly lit up.
Parking Brake - just doesn't feel right being a button, but it would quickly get into my routine I suppose.
Push button gear select (v6) - More getting use to. Though I missed having something to rest my hand on.
Car feel - We started with the 4, and it felt great. Good acceleration, felt nimble, and the engine was very quiet. No problems with power during highway driving. Then we moved to the 6 and it felt... heavier. I can't describe it well, but it certainly felt more substantial, but also less nimble. Also the 6 felt rougher than the 4: going from park to reverse to drive caused a little shudder in the car, and there seemed to be some gear hunting when accelerating in traffic. For me, the 4 felt crisper, and actually more enjoyable to drive.
Drive home and conclusions - Got back into my 07 TSX, and thought about the TLX on my drive home. Nice car - and if I needed to buy a new car right now, it would be a top contender. But it wasn't enough to get me out of my TSX. Not sure if any of the nitpick things above (and they really were just small things) would sway me over - I think its more of the economics (no car payments now, minimal maintenance, etc.) than anything else. But if the TLX was 100% WOW that might be enough. Right now, I give it a 50% WOW and 50% neutral as compared to the TSX.
Other things my salesperson mentioned:
- Acura has only minimal markups on these vehicles due to desire to drive adoption, especially towards TSX users.
- They expect pricing to increase $1k-$2k for 2016.
- Dealers are not swapping inventory
- What they have on hand or on order is it, or you can wait 3 months.
For me, I'm at least 3 months, if not year+ out.

Pretty Good Highway MPG
I'd just came back from a 200 miles road trip - 99% highway. Guess what - my 06 RL got 28.9 MPG  This was with AC on 100%. I cleared the B counter just prior hitting the highway on ramp. I have to say - the RL is a pretty good road trip vehicle!
However, driving around the city such as San Francisco with stop signs/lights at every corner... my city MPG is around 14 MPG :ugh: I guess I will look for an EV for city driving...

Why is everyone in love with the 4 cyl?...
I test drove both, a V6 Advance and base 4 cyl, and I don't see why there is so much love for the 4 cylinder model. It felt very underpowered to me. Reminded me of the 320i loaner car I had. The dual clutch transmission was really nice, fired off shifts with the quickness. The rest of the car was nice also, I really liked it overall. But the V6 is probably the one I would get, more than adequate power and the engine felt smoother to me.
With that said, I have to say that this is a really nice car. I can see myself in one and would definitely get one over a 3 series.
