2004 TL AC Compressor replacement
So I just bought a 04 TL in April at 137K miles and now im at 141k. Just a couple of days ago the AC started switching between blowing hot air and cold air and then yesterday it was only blowing out hot air. Checked the relay and frion both are good. Showed it to 3 different mechanics and they all are saying the compressor needs to be replaced.
I need some help deciding which type to buy. I was thinking about Denso brand new with 1yr warranty for 215. >> http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...gs+Best+Seller
Also the mechanic is asking $130 for labor, is that reasonable? Its way too hot in houston and I cant stand driving 45+ miles everyday without the AC.

Got bored with my Acura so I had it dipped
I've been bored with my Acura for a few months.
Saw an ad on Craigslist for Plastidipping your car, so I decided what the heck.
Decided to go with a Iris Violet Pearl. It flips from purple to blue to almost a copper color.
It's not everyones cup of tea but I like it. Remember I can always peel it off and go back to the factory color.

acuralink
had this issue with acuralink
first, odd that connecting to acura client services is not an option in the acuralink menu.
I had a problem for multiple days with traffic not showing. I connected to acuralink and they said traffic was provided through acura client relations. Provided? Maybe client relations controls the subscription, but doesn't traffic come through the acura link connection?
So I asked to talk to client relations. They said that they could not transfer me. Why not? Because we are emergency services? What, I pressed concierge menu item. I connect back later and this time they said no problem and transferred me. Talked to client relations and they were no help.
my issue is that I think I should get some sort of refund when traffic does not work. I'm paying for acuralink, but they say traffic is free. I say that I have paid for traffic one way or the other. It was bundled into the price of the car.

Fixing A/C Vent
Hello,
I'm new here and I was hoping someone could help me with an issue on my 1998 Acura TL 3.2.
My A/C vent on the center console passenger side is no longer stuck to the dash so you can use the vent because it fell back about an inch. Can someone point me to a fix? I know I may need to pull the dash to reattach the vent but I don't have a clue how so pictures or tutorials would really help.

Lexus CT200h Premium
Does anyone have any experiences or thoughts on it? I've gotten to a point where the gas prices on the TL are getting annoying (I drive a lot, about 18k miles per year) and while it's not unbearable, the idea of having a car with better fuel economy is enticing.
I test drove a CPO 2011 with the premium and navigation packages, and while the car is admittedly very slow, it was still nice overall. It has the trademark Lexus quality build, it was entertaining on twisty roads and handled very well, and has a lot of utility with the hatchback design. I'm a single guy, no real need for something fast, but still want something with luxury. I've considered the Audi A3 diesel and BMW 3-series diesels as well. They don't get as good of fuel economy, but definitely more performance oriented. My concern is the long-term reliability, as I'd like to keep whatever car I get next for about 5 years.
I know it's ultimately what works for me, but hoping to see if anyone has driven one or knows more about it than I do, or maybe even a real reason why it's not a good car that I'm not aware of. i.e. I owned one and it blew up on the freeway.

I reached 30k miles, but only "A1" (oilchng) service light?
Hi guys,
I was expecting that around 30k miles, i'd get a service light telling me to do the 30k maintenace stuff.
The only one that is showing, is A1 which i believe is a normal oil change.
I don't want to go get an oil change, just to have the 30k maintenace light come on soon afterwards.
Does anyone know how this schedule works? Should I just do my oil change, and not worry about 30k maintenace?

Non-car guy here and need advice on maintenance
Hello, I have not posted much on this site but like reading all of the posts! I know very little about cars, but do like keeping mine in good working condition. Here is some background on my 2001 TL: I bought the car at a BMW dealer with approx 140k miles April 2012. I now have 182k miles. Here is what BMW did to the car before I purchased it: Basic tune up, replace spark plugs, replace front and rear brake pads w/machine rotors, trans flush, replace timing belt, replace fan belts.
The only thing I have done to my car is change the oil every 7,500 miles. The car has been 100% trouble free. With that said, I would appreciate any feedback on what I should be doing (if anything) at this point to ensure that my TL stays trouble free. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Timing belt
I called local acura dealership for a price on timing belt and water pump and tension belts all parts and labor for 800. Plus they'll give loaner car. Is that avarage price?

paint peeling
This is my second 4G TL (also had a 2012) and never had a paint issue. Has anybody else had a simiar situation where the paint began peeling on the bumper? I only have 3k miles on this 2014...

2007 TL Trunk Can Not Open. HELP!!
Hi, I can not open my 2007 TL trunk neither fob nor release bottom inside the car. Switch in glove box is on. I can hear the unlock sound but it can not pop up. Also, there are boxes in the trunk so I cant reach out to emergency switch on the lid.

Parasitic battery draw
Morning fellas (and ladies). I recently purchased an Acura TL 2007 model. It is not the type-s but o well, i love it anyways. I have heard great things about these cars and i am normally pretty handy and finding and fixing problems until now!
I come out to a dead battery one morning and think ok alternator is bad or something because the battery is new. I replace the battery anyway and start checking. Nothing is left on, tests show charging system is fine so my next thing is parasitic draw.
I get a multimeter ready, unhook the negative terminal and wait an hour to make sure the car is in "sleep mode". I touch the + lead from multimeter (mm) to the negative disconnected battery lead, and the negative mm lead to the negative battery terminal. I read 0 milliamps, i change it to voltage scale and it's reading 12.48v being drawn. I moved the leads to the appropriate side of the mm to read milliamps, i've pulled every singe fuse (not relays) and nothing changes that reading. I did open the door and read it again thinking it should change a bit with the dome light on but it did not...still 12.48v.
The car is bone stock, no aftermarket anything, so where do i go from here? What on earth could draw 12+ volts while sitting? Have i overlooked something obvious in my testing method?

Need correct interior floor mat color...
I checked the original window sticker and the interior is called taupe. I would call it gray. I looked on a few acura parts websites and the only 3 color floor mat options are light cream ivory, graphite black, and gray.
I assume gray is the correct choice since my current mats look gray. Because the window sticker says the interior is taupe I am second guessing myself.

Seeking advice on price for AWD-TL
Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help. I'm shopping for my wife on the 2014 SH-AWD model that has sticker price at $44,200. All the quotes I received so far is around $37,xxx. I'm willing to pay $35K but they won't bug so far. With limited stock left in my area, I'm afraid I might not be able to pick up the combo I like by the time they lower the price further. Just wondering if anyone has bought one recently and how much did you pay for off sticker price.

A/C Drain Tube Location
Does anyone have a decent picture of where the drain tube leaves the car (2010 TSX)? I read somewhere "under the passenger floor mat". I assume that means under the passenger floor board.
