2019 or 2020 RDX Purchase

I am negotiating on a RDX w/Tech. My dealer has both 2019 and 2020 in the color I want,in stock. He offers $2000 difference in price. It seems to me that the depreciation for what is essentially a year old car, should be more than $2K. Any thoughts on what is be a better option is appreciated.


Dumb driveshaft question: Does it ever disable the car, or does it just whine?

I'm finding that Nav voice volume control does not have enough granularity. It's either to low (hard to hear at highway speeds) or one step louder, and its way to loud. Also, there does not seem to be a setting for auto volume adjust at highway speeds. Anyone else notice this or am I missing something?

Hello,
I am looking into purchasing a used '16 or '17 ILX and was curious what everyone's opinion was on the premium package vs the technology package. I have found the specs of each listed out but don't know beneficial some of these options are. Also my understanding is that the tech package comes with all the premium package features as well. Below are the features I could find for the tech package, are there any I missed? Those of you with the tech package do you feel these features were worth it? Are there any major feature differences between the '16 or '17? Appreciate the advice!

Battery always stops at half way?

I'm getting used to my 100 mile a day round trip and enjoying the 30-33 mpg. But what am I missing?
My drive is 35 miles on the highway at 70-80 mph and the vehicle never charges past halfway unless I go to sport mode when it fills up.
The next 10 miles is slower, 30-40 mph. Then the final 5 or so miles is crawling through the tunnel and in the city.

Is this the way it supposed to be, designed this way? What is the best way to drive it most effectively and efficiently?

A stolen vehicle involved in an out of the area burglary took the wrong exit! EPD stop sticked the car at the I-95 Edgewater exit. The driver, Ronald Salley Jr., ran from the car at the 2000 block of Willow Oak Dr since the tires were going flat. He threw a stolen gun as he ran and was caught by EPD Officers with the help of Volusia County Sheriff's Office AIR1. A passenger, Hanna Everett, was arrested and her 2 year old daughter who was in the backseat was eventually united with a responsible adult. The stolen gun was recovered with the help of VCSO K9.

07 RDX - D-Light Flashing

Hello RDX owners/Acura enthusiasts. Just some quick background, I have owned my 07 Acura RDX for around one month now and it has around 175 KM. The car runs smooth and the transmission shifts perfectly. Upon minutes of starting my car the D light starts to flash on my dashboard. I am pretty sure this is transmission related. How should I go about diagnosing this? And is it safe to travel short distances with this light flashing?

Hi all, I am new here. A member in my family just bought a 05 TL with 150,000 miles on it in very clean condition. She told me that it doesn't have very much power and I was rather surprised as I have two friends that have owned these cars. She also told me that she was using regular gas in the car and I thought that this might be the problem. Upon refilling it with premium, the situation has not changed, Any ideas on what to look for would be greatly appreciated!

My 05 TSX has been in limp mode for like 2 wks and has a code U0107 which means no communication with TAC module. I've been doing tons of research on this topic and learned that the prob could be as simple as a broken or corroded wire. I've searched and searched for a wiring diagram relating to the drive by wire system but can't find it online. The only wiring diagrams I can find are related with the audio system & even those I believe were for an RSX. If someone could post images of the wiring diagram or have any info you think might be helpful I'd be extremely grateful!! I don't have the $ to pay a mechanic to fix this so I'm on my own here.

Oh & another thing..unrelated but still VERY important...if you've ever had issues with pwr steering on your 1st or 2nd gen TSX PLZ PLZ PLZ go to this site & report it bc I've noticed this seems to be extremely common on this vehicle (esp 1st gen), most requiring rack & pinion/pwr steering pump replacements & if enough of us speak up we can def get Acura to make a recall...AS IN YOU'D GET YOUR MONEY BACK FOR HAVING IT REPLACED!! Even if you were under warranty PLEASE still fill out the form so Acura will be forced to turn it into a recall!! And yes I am begging.lol

Lastly, I plan on adding another post at some point begging everyone to file a complaint (if you've had probs with pwr steering) but added it to this post bc possibly some of you who read this won't view that post & I want to get to as many ppl as poss.

AC clutch will not engage no matter what I do.

I rarely make my own posts, but when I do it's because I have found zero answers to my problem anywhere on the internet.

Here we go: My AC is blowing hot, and I mean HOT. It's about 110 degrees every day where I am, and my 2006 TL is a toaster oven. I have tried everything. I added coolant, I swapped out the clutch relay, I swapped the #12 fuse, and I jumped the low pressure switch with a wire on the 1&2 terminals. I am at a complete loss. The closest I've gotten to figuring out why my AC clutch won't engage is that it isn't getting any power. When I try to jump the relay, there is no spark at all. When I do the same thing with the relay for the fan, it sparks immediately and the fan comes on. The #12 fuse is fine and there's nothing else before that and the main fuse, so I am completely baffled. Could it be an issue somewhere between the relay and the compressor? Possibly a grounding issue? I literally just put $2500 in repairs into this car like 3 weeks ago and I do NOT want to take it back to the shop.

For those of you ILX owners that live in 'remote' areas as far as tuning goes and are old enough you don't give a shit about a dyno slip like me....you may want to considering an e-tuner. I used Steve at E-tunes ECU Tuning for Hondata, K-tuner, Cobb and more... | E-Tunez who also tuned another member with a 2015 ILX. Both of us are running 2014 ILX ecms because we plan to boost down the road. Basically you tell him your mods he emails you a safe starter map, you drive around 15-20 minutes while logging, then send it to him, rinse and repeat as necessary. Then whalla you can't maintain traction even with a stock block, downpipe, and intake, but that's a problem without tuning so.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I have no affiliation with E-tunez, just have been tuned by a number of mostly legit tuners over the years including.

2019 Acura MDX Tech 7P Warranty Question Navi Screen LCD Scratch?

Hey guys, I just purchased 2019 MDX Tech 7p and I noticed a scratch on the navigation screen when I got home. The scratch looks like it's either on the lcd or inside the protective glass. Do you if this is covered under warranty? I just bought this car brand new. I tried to rub with my finger and could not feel any scratches from the surface, so it has to be from the inside. Appreciate any comments thanks







08 tl poss electrical issue

I have an 08 tl, recently i saw my frot low beams and tail lights would flash while the car is off. This would happen for a minute or 2 then stop. I dont know if its related but in addition to that my brake/horne fuse blows every few days
Ive tried 2 different brands of fuses with the same issue. Ive tried changing the brake fluid no luck. Any help or insight anyone can provide would be great. The car has about 150k on it with no other issues other than the hands free unit draning the battery which i had fixed. In addtion the car did have auto start with alarm but i that removed.

Acura TLX vs Audi A6 2.0T Quattro

I own: 2018 Acura TLX 3.5LV6 P-AWS "Technology Package"
I have, for a week or two: 2018 Audi A6 2.0T "S-Line" Quattro

I will give my impressions as I experience the Audi and become familiar with it.

First impressions are (of the Audi, relative to my Acura):
I think the Audi is a much more expensive car, but I am not certain, as I have not checked the price yet.
I think the [interior] trim pieces that look like wood are fake, and just plastic which looks like wood? This seems tacky to me.
The Audi's center console/armrest is nice, slightly less comfortable, but a little nicer design + slightly more features like a tray insert and another USB port.
I prefer the stick (Audi) over the push buttons (Acura).
Plus: I like that the Audi has "steering modes" - Minus: Even in "Dynamic" mode the Audi steering feels less engaging and not exciting compared to the Acura.


Minus: Even with the driving mode set to "Dynamic" the Audi feels even more unresponsive than my Acura, and frankly, quite boring! I was very surprised at how uninspiring the throttle response was! (Caveat: I drive with Traction Control ALWAYS off on my Acura, I have it set in "Sport" mode, and, I have a Sprint Booster installed (which I know, does not affect engine performance at all, simply remaps your throttle press to be deeper). Edit: Find out, then try, turning Traction Control off on the Audi, to be fair!

Memory Seats: Big surprise here too (let down by Audi) you have to HOLD the "1" or "2" button down while the seat is moved to the memory setting whereas with the Acura you just press the button and it auto-adjusts completely back to the memory position. Why Audi? This may seem like a nitpick, but isn't it "the little things that matter" when comparing luxury class cars? Of course, if we were comparing a 300 HP NA V6 to a Turbo or Super Charged V8, the performance difference would blow me away and cause me to overlook several of these niggling "little things".

Big Minus (Audi): Damn the fan is NOISY when you turn it up past half way, to get some good cooling on a hot day!

So, until I hit some bumps on curves at speed, I will reserve judgement of the Audi's suspension - as to simply calm driving around town, I prefer the Acura's suspension even though it's not adjustable and I thought I was upset by the Acura's lack of Active Damping/adjustable suspension. I think that it could still be significantly superior to have a high speed computer controlled suspension system which enabled the combination of a stiffer ride than the Acura without sacrificing comfort (like I read about some Mercedes having, and on the "Performance Package" Mustang and Camaro LT ZL1(?).



Of course, I need to spend more quality time driving the Audi - including driving time with open roads where I suspect there are not police lurking, so that I may fully appreciate sporty use of the paddle shifters to more fully form my opinion about performance, and potential "fun" this car can deliver. So far, surprisingly(!!!) I prefer my FWD NA V6 Acura to the 2.0T Audi, in terms of driving excitement. Yes, I have to be aware, and precise, in my throttle application if I wish to engage in spirited driving - particularly "off the line" and, if I wish to take hard corners under acceleration. I've not yet had the opportunity to push the Audi at all significantly, and, I don't know how do the Conti Pro Contact tires compare to Potenzas?










4g seats into 3g tl?

Wondering if 4g Tl front seats will bolt into our 3g Tl.
I find most 3g used seats are beaten up and the heating elements have gone bad.
My current seats are torn and the heating elements don’t work.
The 4g Tl seats seem like a viable replacement. Who knows maybe 2nd gen tsx Seats would fit.

Long story short looking for an oem seat upgrade.
