I'm trying to inspect the airfilter and I sw that the MAP sensor to connected to the housing.
Anyone figured out how to remove the MAP sensor cablle without cutting the tiewrap?

I'm having a difficult time replacing the regulator for my 2008. Anyone have a good video guide for a TSX (not TL)?

I'm following AllData and other video guides but it won't come out. It's like the glass is stuck or secured to the regular mast in a way that nobody is discussing.

I was a trained technician who worked as a tech full time many years ago, but this thing is making me feel like a noob. Any help is greatly appreciated.

LKAS and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)

Hello. I have a 2019 ILX Premium. My question relates to the operation of the RDM and the LKAS. Whenever I activate the RDM (push button on dash), the LKAS also activates even though I have not turned it on with the steering wheel controls. There are no lane lines in the multifunction display but if I drift over the center line the steering wheel shakes and a message appears that I am out of my lane. My objective is to have the RDM active without the LKAS. Before I schedule an appointment with the dealer service dept I thought I’d post my question here for any advice.

Question. Where can I get the a power source for the RGB from the trunk? The one to the DVD NAV is always on even when the car is off. I think the unit is drawing the battery dead...

It’s about that time for me to do the first oil change on my 2016 ILX. Just curious to know what kind of experience people have had with different oils. I’ve always been a Castrol buyer, but been leaning more towards M1 for this car just because. I just wanna know if anyone’s experienced anything like the motor running quieter (or louder) with one oil over another, etc....now this car only has 19.5k miles so it’s still fresh. Thanks.

Hello everyone, this is my first time post and I just wanted to say hi and ask what seems to be a really stupid question.
I recently bought a 2005 RL and wanted to do a complete fluid change but for the life of me I can't find the transmission filter. I took out the air box and looked everywhere but I can't find what I thought I was looking for. From what I read and watched online, I thought there would be a sort of cylinder with a bracket and a bolt at one end of it. The only thing in the place I thought it would be at is part of the wiring harness enclosed in a big plastic junction like box. I've been under and all over but still no luck. I was thinking maybe the engine has been swapped out or something but I'm just guessing. The engine has J35A6 stamped on it if that means anything. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi all, recently bought a 2002 TL, and before any of you say it, yes I am planning on getting it running as best it can before doing any cosmetic mods.
Now onto the subject, I've been trying for a few days to try and figure out what wheels I should get later on down the line, and I settled on these Konig Control wheels. Cheap, look good, and seems like they'll fit.

The question for the masses, Will They Fit???



*Based on stock 16" wheels
As you can see, "height" wise they're identical, it's just the new wheels are obviously wider, but what I want to know is if that extra width will cause me trouble.

Hello, I have a 2009 Tl 3.7L with approx 179K miles. I took it into Acura for the oil consumption test. My first result burned over a quart, and the last two were all over the place on the results. Acuras response to the results were that they were normal for the year and milage. Looking back I should have checked if they overfilled when they were doing the last two tests. Has anyone ever taken it back for a retest? I know i'll have to pay for the oil change again, but wasn't sure if it was even an option once Acura has had their say.

I've noticed that on a well marked road, the LKAS doesn't seem to handle much more than the gentlest of curves before it crosses the line and warns me. It's not something I've really tried to push. Has anyone pushed the limits on it to see how effective it is? And is it just me or does the car kind of "roam" in the lane when it's engaged rather than staying centered?

MDX Paint Peeling off

I am curious if anyone on here owns a MDX, especially a 2015 in Tri-coat White (pearl color), and have noticed paint chips or paint peel on roof and other parts of car. Below is my story about my wifes MDX, and the reason I will not spend another dime with Acura, even though it pains me to say it.

I bought my wife a Tri-coat White 2015 Acura MDX. This was her 4th Acura, and 2nd MDX. Around 40k miles, we started noticing paint chips randomly throughout the car body. It was like everytime my wife washed the car, she would find new paint chips. The car has never been through an automatic car wash, never had pressure washer on it, never a brush. Only microfiber cloths. Needless to say, we reported it to Acura, and they tried to tell me it was because of road debris. I argued that it would be weird, for someone to drive everywhere in reverse, as a lot of the chips was on the rear hatch and bumper of the car. They finally had a local repair guy, use a touch up pen to hide the chips. So fast forward another year, and now, the roof paint is peeling, and I mean literally peeling off. There is a spot about 3x6 inches, where it is bare metal. So we take to another dealer, and he tells us he has seen this before, but only with the 2015 MDX in white. Said he had seen about 7 cases of this. Interestingly enough, my uncle has the same car, and sure enough, his roof is peeling also. There was one for sale down the road last month, and sure enough, its roof was peeling also.

Corporate Acura told me that they have never heard of this originally, and after many discussions, they said they woudl review the case, and came back with the decision, that they would pay 50% of the cost to repaint the roof, but only between the sunroof and front windshield. So basically, about a 4ft by 1 ft section. I told them that they had got to be kidding, but they were dead serious.

I figured it out, between my wife, uncle, mother, step mother, and motehr in law, we have purchased 7 new Acuras in the last 10 years, spending roughly $350k with Acura. I told the Corporate Acura lady, that I have never had one bad thing to say about Acura, in fact, if anyone asked, We would swear by them, that they are reasonable priced, extremely dependable, and overall a great car. This is the only complaint I have with them, but Corporate Acura needs to step up, and repair these vehicles due to their faulty paint.

2008 TLSA crate/rebuilt/reman engine store/shop

My 08 TLSA has started burning about 2.5qt/wk (~500miles), 327K miles on the engine without a single issue... so, I can't complain, she's been an excellent car. I was wondering if anything had worked with a store/shop/builder to get a crate/rebuilt/reman engine. I'm very hesitant to buy a junk yard motor, especially as this point where most will have been sitting for some time now or have >100K on them.

Any info is appreciated.

Instructions for disassembling the center console to modify inputs?

I plan to swap the functionality of the two USB ports in the center console because I despise the placement of the media-connected port being next to the cup holders. I may even try USB 3.0 ports if they are supported.

Does anyone have or know of where to find the instructions for disassembling the center console? I don't even know where to begin removing panels.

Transmission Fail - Stuck in 1st & 2nd

Hello Acura Community,

I NEED your help. I have a 2006 RL with 160k in miles with a dead transmission (so it would seem). I have done research saying that it could be a failed sensor, but really have no idea. I took a turn 90-degree turn on a city street, gassed out of it and got hit with a "Check SH-AWD" and then it shifted down to the 1st gear. I pulled over, turned off and restart it. The light went off but then would not get out of first gear. No check engine lights, no blinking lights whatsoever. In fact, from a dashboard perspective, it seems like everything fine.

I have tried shifting gears in manual mode and it goes into 2nd; but never the 3rd gear. I took it to a shop, who says I need a whole rebuild for $2,600. I don't agree with that statement, because it sounds like it could be a sensor or in "limp mode", rebuilding the transmission might not even solve the problem. I really don't want to take it into a shop after shop, hearing you need to rebuild without understanding why and if it could be something else.

PLEASE HELP... I really need this car to last me another year or two...

Got an 05 M/T TL just did rear pads and calipers 3 weeks ago. Just started hearing a clicking sound come from the breaks. I cant tell if its from the rear or front. But i know its got something to do with the breaks because when i applu them the clicking goes away. Otherwise its a constant click that sorta speeds up the faster I go i can sorta still hear it in the freeway as I drive next to side walls. Would that possibly be the indicator pin coming from the front? Have not changed the front pads.

I want to test a 2016+ ILX for Autocross

I believe that an 8-speed DCT ILX could be moderately competitive for autocross in the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) H Street class. To find out, I'm looking to co-drive with someone that is interested in bringing a 2016+ out to one or more local AX events around the Chicago/Milwaukee/Madison area. I'm fairly skilled at AX driving, both front and rear drive, and I can provide expertise and training if you're interested. I would expect to borrow some appropriate/competitive AX tires/wheels from fellow competitors to use at the event rather than using your streets. I'm looking at the ILX as an option that my spouse can drive when I'm not racing it. She's not into stick.

So, please drop me a note...there are potential events most weekends through September.

My 2018 MDX went into the shop today for the third time for some electrical gremlins. Got a 2019 RDX A spec as a loaner.
Im not impressed in the least. The car is fast, much quicker than our MDX. Sitting at a stop light the car clunks when you pull away. The seats are much tighter. Trying to get to our favorite Sirius station took me about 5 minutes in the garage to get where I could access the station. The dash display is so jumbled up its difficult to recognize anyting. The silly display aitting on top of the dash is just plane dumb. Cup jolders inside the consol! Really?? The split consol looks kind of different, but practically is just a giant dust collector.
I guess bottom line its not my cup of tea.

Drove 70 miles up 75N from GA to Chattanooga TN today.
Reset the tripometer when I got on the highway. When I got off 75 it was showing 29.9 mpg, all highway miles.
No issues at all with the vehicle. This will be a 3 day trip only totaling about 350 miles.
The odometer just went past the 1000 mile mark today.
Love the RDX so far.
