Hello Acura community! I'm Adam and new to the site. My daily driver is a 2012 Acura TL SH AWD. When the Ohio weather allows me to drive it I also have a 2004 Honda S2000. Does anyone know when the TLX's are going to have turbo engines? I thought we'd see a release of the TLX Type S soon but my local dealer said they didn't know anything about it.

Acura recalls and loaner denial

So after getting letters in the mail about the recalls for TIMING BELT and TAIL LIGHTS, i scheduled to bring my car into Phil Smith Acura because it's closer to my house, but i originally got the car from Pemproke Pines Acura. While checking in with the service adviser I asked if I could get a loaner because i could not wait at the dealership and to my surprise he said Acura does NOT offer loaner vehicles for recalls. Even the Jeep grand cherokee we have gave us a loaner when we dropped off for a recall and it was the exact same situation where i got the car from one dealership but was having the recall done at another. I'm just expressing my frustrations with this situation. Did anyone have any luck getting a loaner for recalls or was it just the dealership that i went to that sucks?

FS: Type-S Single Waffle Wheels (2 total)

I have two Type-S wheels that I'm willing to sell cheap plus whatever shipping will cost (or local pick-up in the NE Ohio area). One is perfectly round (came off my car recently) but the finish is shot due to poor refinishing by a local wheel repair shop and is flaking off. The other wheel has a near-perfect finish (for used) but has a slight flat spot on the rear section. I was told by a tire shop it might be fine but wanted to let whomever know just in case (otherwise its definitely a $200 wheel). Both are OEM wheels. $50/each plus shipping. I will post pics of both hopefully this weekend.

Front Bumper

Was waxing my car the other day and noticed that my front bumper is suffering from a bad case of road rash. Lots of little dings from rocks I guess. I would like to repair and then 3M clear bra I guess. Anybody have any info on how to repair the pits and dings in the front bumper? I tried claybars and cutting compound but no good. Thanks

Anyone know the specs of what fits in the rear door speaker.

Koni Orange missing parts?

Doing the shocks and springs on my 2006 TL. In putting the Konis together I have no Bump Stop Plate. It is the washer between the Bump stop and the lower of the two similar Rubber Bushings.

Was it supposed to be included with the Konis? The Cup and Collar that were the old bump Stop Plate were unremovable from the OEM shocks. They were Rusted solid on and I had to cut the top washer

and nut off and cut the shock spindle in half to remove the bump stop itself. Damn salt and snow up north here. Any ideas if I need the Bump Stop Plate or not or if I can pick a comparable one up locally

for the Koni Orange that I have? Thanks!

Ticking noise Wiped #2 Cam Lobe Exh.

Hello All,
I have a 2010 MDX Advanced with 275,000 miles on it and developed a ticking noise like a valve adjustment was needed. After adjusting the valves I still had the ticking noise so I took it to the dealer for a more informed look and was told #2 had a problem. No codes, no cylinder missing, nothing apparently going on to be concerned. I had noticed it getting worse over a couple week period and it had become a noisy tick. I pulled the rear valve cover and found #2 cam lobe was worn badly as well as the rocker roller. This was the drivers side rocker and lobe.
I have a couple of questions on this;

1 Does the cam slide out the gear side or will it come out towards the driver side, bottom line do I have to pull the head to get it out?

2 I have Torque on my phone and the ELM 327 Bluetooth dongle that work great, is there an app for Android that lets you check cylinder balance on the fly?

3 Are there any other checks I should make at this point? It's never been overheated, rarely get into the rpm that VTEC comes on, it's been a great ride and fits my needs perfectly.

4 I swapped the PCV Valve out and noticed it didn't have the check valve in it I'm use to seeing. The old one broke during removal and a small pin and spring feel out but the new OE didn't seem to have it? The parts guy didn't have a clue what I was asking about.

I recently read about the EGR disable and will do that, 5K miles ago I installed a Gates Kevlar TB and swapped plugs that didn't need changing but it was time. Other than a couple batteries and a front passenger half shaft this has been the best vehicle I've ever owned. Could get better MPG but excellent in all other aspects.
Any input or advice is much appreciated and if anyone has the cam and rocker arms for the Exhaust side shoot me a PM as far as what you need for them.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale News

Pictures of Ferrari’s much anticipated new hybrid supercar has already been leaked a bit, in a now-deleted blurry picture on Instagram, but now there’s a full set of what appear to be Ferrari press photos of what is called the SF90 Stradale. It’s clearly crammed full of Ferrari DNA, though it does have a somewhat busy, techno-fetishy sort of look.

The rear is remarkably busy, with multiple folds and panels and gaps and windowed areas; there seems to be a small horizontal slit of a rear window above the engine-viewing glass dome, flanked by perforated air vents and buttresses that flow into the rear wing.

The roof and greenhouse are all black, which forms an interesting inset-pod like effect of the glass into the rest of the (here, red) body. It almost looks like it could be ejected out if things got too hairy. Almost.

The main side air intake vents are high, above he beltline, and the exhaust tips are quite high as well, above the large rear diffusers and below the narrow rear band that contains the squashed quad taillamps.

The rear also has a twin round flaps of some sort—one is likely for fuel for the big V8 engine, and perhaps one is a plug-in port for the three other electric motors? No one has said if this is to be a plug-in hybrid or not, but, maybe? Word on the street is this hybrid 3.9-liter V8 will put out a combined 970-ish horsepower, perfect for jaunts to the supermarket and back.

The rear also has this very excited/terrified-looking face.

The front end is very squinty, and you can see the three-stripe DRLs clearly; this motif also seems to show up at the rear, perhaps as the rear marker lamp.

The front end, especially the air dam and intakes, is much less complex and fussy than the rest of the car, which is interesting, and I like the way the side air intakes are visible, like ears.

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about the look just yet, but I don’t think I hate it; it’s complicated and a little busy, but striking and exciting, too. The actual reveal is expected to happen later today, so we should be getting better pictures, officially, pretty soon.

Until then, start forming strong opinions!

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Beyond Meat, Inc. (NASDAQ: BYND) (“Beyond Meat”), a leader in plant-based meat, announced today it will report results for the first quarter ended March 30, 2019 on Thursday, June 6, 2019 after market close.

Shorting Beyond Meat stock is beyond expensive

May 30, 2019

Meaty borrowing fees are keeping short sellers from adding to their bearish positions in Beyond Meat’s stock. Though short sellers were to quick bet against the shares after they soared in their initial days of trading, short activity has quieted down more recently, in part because the stock has become so expensive to borrow.

Beyond Meat shares now carry a stock-borrow rate of about 68%, according to data from S3 Partners, a financial technology and analytics firm, making it so would-be short sellers would have trouble achieving an attractive return on their investments after taking into account the borrowing cost.

A borrow fee of 68% makes Beyond Meat the most expensive stock to short of all U.S. stocks with over $100 million in short interest, Ihor Dusaniwsky, managing director at S3, told MarketWatch. Newly public Lyft Inc. ranks fifth with a 26% fee, which has come down in recent weeks.

“With much of its stock held by internal holders or in non-lending retail hands, coupled with a relatively small float, there is little hope of a significant amount of stock landing in lending programs until its 180-day lockups expire on Oct. 29,” Dusaniwsky said.

The maker of plant-based meat currently has the 14th-largest short interest in the food-products sector, recently crossing the $500-million threshold, but its “quick rise up the league tables” has been stalled by the high borrow costs and the paper losses that shorts have racked up thus far, Dusaniwsky said.

Analysts recently initiated coverage of Beyond Meat, with J.P. Morgan assigning the stock an overweight rating and a $97 price target while other analysts cautioned that the stock looked fairly priced after its massive post-IPO rally and set lower targets.

“If Beyond Meat’s stock price moves to the upper end of the range, we would expect a short squeeze in the stock as the increased mark-to-market losses coupled with high stock borrow rates would be a one-two punch most short sellers would find hard to stomach,” Dusaniwsky wrote. He added that a potential partnership with McDonald’s Corp. could “send its stock price soaring and short sellers incurring further losses,” now that rival Impossible Foods Inc. has struck a partnership with Restaurant Brands International Inc.’s Burger King.

New Here: Integra to TL

Hey all,

First car was a 96 Acura Integra 4dr bought at 140k miles and owned it for 7 years until I totaled it last summer. Just recently bought a 09 Acura TL with 129k miles on it for a very good price and absolutely love it. Here's some photos that display my experience...

Top: Purchased condition (no rust or dings, dark photo sorry).
Btm Left: Hit a tree, lol. It looks worse than it really was. Just needed to replace bumper cover, bumper, and radiator. We bent the car's frame back out to by hooking it up to a hitch and put it into reverse, lol.
Btm Right: Budget restoration. Found someone parting out their green Integra and scooped up the hood, unfortunately they already sold the bumper cover so I just bought an OEM replacement but didn't bother to paint it.

Last summer I got rammed by a 2018 Chevy Silverado going 25mph while making a left turn (known to be a dangerous intersection because of the blind spots, this happens probably over 20 times a year at this intersection and I was the unfortunate one this time). Didn't even bother to try and fix this sucker at this point.

Just bought this a few days ago at a very good price. Garage kept, dealership maintained, everything done to the car was documented and printed out (WOW), 129k miles, and it was an older lady's car so it wasn't driven hard. Minor exterior dings, but that's expected on a 10 year old car. Interior is in like-new condition... I'm in love.

So far I've done a pretty good job at detailing the interior, although I'd like to take it to a detailer to get the exterior properly detailed and the engine bay cleaned out. I could do it myself but I want the peace-of-mind when a professional is doing it. I'd like a fresh start! Already ordered replacement floor mats (3d maxpider for front mats, WeatherTech for rear floor, and WeatherTech for trunk/cargo floor).

If you read this far I appreciate your time to read my story! I'll be scouring these forums for info on my new(er) car.

Condensation in passenger headlight assembly.

So I've tried the hair dryer and it works but only for a day. Even if it not raining there is condensation that builds any tips to get rid of this? I called the dealership and warranty is no longer valid (2012 rdx). They gave me a quote of 900$ just for the assembly then tack on labour. It seems like quite the work to remove the bumper to take out the light and bake it and or reseal. I have applied silicone to the top portion of the connection (where I could reach). From what I've read there is no breather tube...is that correct? because that's what I feel is the issue, no place for the heat to escape.

Hey RDX enthusiasts! I’m in the used car market and really love the RDX, but I’m not willing to pay the new car price. It looks like there are lots on here that are trading in there lightly used 2nd gens for the 2019 3rd gen.

I’d be very interested in purchasing a well taken care of 2016 from one of you and potentially making it mutually beneficial in that I could pay some on top of your trade in offer.

i know trading in is the easiest thing so I’m willing to do the bulk of the leg work and make the private transaction as painless as possible.

I love North of Cincinnati. Email me if you are interested jcgage0@gmail.com
