Trying to convince my wife to get a used MDX under 40k miles. I have driven 2 pre owned RLs and currently drive a TLX so a fan of Acura. She had Toyota Camry before and currently has a Audi Q7 with 100k plus miles. We are seeing more trips to repair shop so want to get rid of it. Otherwise she liked it and would like to get another Q7. I have convinced her to look at other options to due reliability issues. She puts about 12K miles per year. She wants to explore other brands such as Lexus. I know very little about it. I know MDX is generally a solid vehicle but not sure if particular year was better or worse for a pre owned option. If we get MDX, it will be a 2015-2018. Any red flags in those years ? Lexus apparently has more trim options in RX. We don't absolutely need the 3rd row seat but it would be nice to use it once in a while. It would be nice to own a car for the long haul and not have car payments for ever thats why not interesting in leasing. If we get 10 years plus out of it, it will be great!
my 2007 Acura TSX 156k auto transmission needs to get replaced/ rebuilt.
The cheaper route is to replace the trans with a used one. I priced out a few transmissions and am ready to purchase and get it installed but my question is, will the JDM transmission line up correctly and shift the same?
Are there any differences between the two? I dont want to waste my time and money
The warehouse listed it between 50-60k I so figured that was good mileage on a used transmission. Please let me know any information you guys may have.
Does anyone know if there is a DIY thread on how to replace the rear mount I can't seem to find anything on it. Already did the front mount with no problem, is it pretty much the same procedure as the back? If someone has some Info on this it would be helpful
Rust undercarriage Rust on passenger seat rear hinge
I am off of the extended warranty and onto the rust!
Attached are two pictures.
I will start with the rust on the undercarriage. Do you feel this is a normal amount of rust for a 2016 CPO RDX?
The other picture is of the rear hinge anchoring the front passenger seat. My question here, is why would there be rust on this hinge? Prior to purchasing the RDX, I reviewed all the history, including the Carfax, and there was no indication that the car was in an accident or a flood.

I have a '12 RDX ShAWD Non-TECH w/93,XXX mi, Wifes driving to work 15min later VSA & Check engine light start lighting up, car gets sluggish & starts shaking, Just purchased spark plug & ignition coils... I guess my question whats the cause(s), my guess is i think a got a bad batch of gas... Any & all opinions will be greatly appreciative... Thanks
Hey all, i have a 1998 Acura TL with the longitudinal 3.2 V6. Motor is seized best i can tell and so i'm going to swap it. Question is, what it the best way to do this? I have a lift so please consider that.
Is is easier to just pull the motor form the top? Pull the motor and transmission together from the top? OR drop the entire assembly on the sub frame from the bottom.
Again i have a lift so doing things from underneath is easy.
Any videos or other links appreciated on any approach.

I've noticed that one headlight (HID lowbeam) has started to flicker at random times. Just at random times, whether it be stationary when first started or after 2 hours of driving on the highway. I replaced both L/H and R/H bulbs but the issue is still there, subsequently leading me to a bad ballast? Would any aftermarket D2S ballast work? I'm currently looking at something from the retrofit source as a plug-in play. Another issue I have are the DRLs, the headlight with the flickering is noticeable dimmer. Again, both the DRL bulbs were replaced at the same time and issue is still there. Could the flickering and DRL bulb brightness be related? I don't know how the TL's ballasts look and if they branch off to the HID and highbeam/DRL bulbs.
I am trying to keep the cost down on my RDX and I can get either the Tech package or AWD. I am located in Georgia but being from NE I like having AWD.
It would really stretch my budget to get both.
Which would you choose and why? Or is there a compelling reason to get both?
All-Im having some issues with my DD 2000 TL. Ive been having multiple issues for the past month. It all started with the P0780 code. Got the TCS light and flashing D5. I replaced the 3rd gear pressure switch. I then did a 3x3 trans flush using Honda trans fluid. Things were fine for a little while (20 miles) then got the TCS and flashing D5 again. I damn near overheated the engine on the way home from work. I cleaned the shift solenoids and cleared the codes. All the lights are off but I now have one slight problem. I cant go into reverse. Its like the car is in neutral. I also checked the coils and all are good. Can anyone help me out? I appreciate it!
HI, I'm new here and I tried to search through to find my answer but I couldn't find anything so I apologize if i'm doing something wrong, and my issue is a little different than the common "Starting problems" Anyways, I have an RL platform (Engine, ECM, Wire Harness, fuse boxes) in my CRX for a swap and everything gets power but my ignition just clicks somewhere in the engine bay or the passenger side fuse box when using the key.. which I have to insert the physical key into the ignition otherwise it wont turn. I can leave the key in the on position and use a manual switch on the starter and it'll crank and injects fuel but there is no spark. I have checked all my grounds (at least I think so) and I can't seem to figure out the problem. I wasn't sure if the immobilizer would even cause this since it IS injecting fuel & my key was "guaranteed" to match the ECM. I wasn't sure if there was maybe a piece to the puzzle I could be missing o something I am totally overlooking. I don't have a gauge cluster so yes I know that could help me figure out if the immobilizer is a problem but I wanted to check everything else before I buy a gauge cluster that I would only use for testing purposes.Any input at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I am trying to hook up a brake controler to my MDX. I have the original Acura supplied harness that plugs into the car (driver's side kick panel) but no power to the controler. The harness package contained a 30Amp fuse but I am not sure if I need it and where to plug it in.
Can someone give me or tell me where i can find the wire color code for the amplifier for the door speakers. I'm trying to install a aftermarket amplifier to the speakers. Thx you.
This has happened a handful of times when the car sits in idle mode for 5 to 1o minutes a light horn / siren sound can be heard coming from inside the cabin. Just wondering if this issue has happed to anyone else.
April 28- sat in Dallas, TX traffic in drive mode while foot on the brakes, car made light horn / siren sound. Sound came from front passenger side
April 29- parked the car then I could hear the light horn / siren noise as we walked away.
May 17 (2PM)- sat in driveway while in in drive mode and my foot on the brake for about 5 minutes, car made light horn / siren sound can be heard inside car. Auto idle off. Sound came from front passenger side.
May 17 (6PM)- the car was idling in park mode with car on for 10 minutes, light horn / siren sound can be heard from inside the car. Auto idle off. Sound came from front passenger side.
