2019 MDX SHAWD w Tech pkg

Well I lied. A month ago I said we were getting an RDX w SHAWD and Advanced pkg. Wife changed her mind, we're getting an MDX tomorrow. I like the MDX more, but hate that we won't be getting the added features of the Advanced pkg. That being said, while we could afford the payment, the pros and cons fell in favor of a lower payment.

I already have a quote for tint, Xpel front film, and complete ceramic protection for about $1800. Will post pictures when we pick it up.

IACV (Idle Air Control valve Location) Car idles when driven

Hi everyone I am new to the Acura Form and I had a question, I just replaced my intake manifold on my 2005 Acura RL a couple of months ago and everything has been working fine. But when I drive the car the engine seems like it is going to cut off and then it idles back up. Now I put it on the computer and the code it gave me is PO2279 air intake leak. Now when I looked online it said it might be IACV ( Idle Air Control Valve) may need to be clean. My neighbor said this is usually attached to the throttle body because he has a TL. But for some odd reason I do not have it on my RL throttle body. Now I look into replacing the purge valve but just not sure where to find this leak. I replace my spark plugs and coils and it is still idling when I come to a stop. Can someone please help find where the IACV ( Idle Air Intake Valve) is located on this car? It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Leather Seat Puckering

We just took delivery of our RDX Platinum Elite a week ago and noticed the passenger seat (where your ass goes) was puckered up. It was not a smooth surface. I know leather will stretch over time but it shouldn't be installed with stretch marks. I guess the seat leather is not sewn in by a Robot. In any case, they are going to replace the seat. Things like that should either be caught by QC or very very rare in occurrence. If there are others that have experienced this I am hopeful for a job at Acura in QC department.

Drivers Side HVAC Vent

Have had my A-Spec for about 2 weeks now and noticed that when fully opened for either heating or cooling, the left side drivers vent only blows about half the strength as the other 3 front seat vents. It's almost as if the vent adjustment is halfway closed. Has anyone else had an issue like this, getting ready to take it in to get it looked at.

06 TL performance issue

So, I've owned an 06 accord(j30) v6 6mt and now own an 06 TL(j32) 6mt for the past year and some change or 74k miles. I've always owned acuras and hondas and am having an issue with my TL. I know a fair amount about the mechanics and systems in place in these engines but am having a tough time with this issue. My TL... I bought this vehicle at 200k and it has run like a top up to 270k. Recently I've had a lack of throttle response/performance. The vehicle has thrown a cel for catalyst efficiency below threshold and a code for the bank 1 upstream sensor, however, the vehicle has not thrown a cel consistently and the cel comes on, then goes off on it's own. Currently it will not throw a cell, and I drive it from 9am to 5pm every day. But the performance is subpar most definately. It takes alot of gas pedal to get it moving and even then it does not move as the TL normally moves. I've checked the exhaust system for restrictions but nothing seems to be clogged or restricting. Have changed the firewall side cat, disconnected the 3rd cat and drove it with no changes, so it's not the cat, resonator, mufflers, etc. Replaced the PCV valve, no effect. Oh, and I just took it to the most reliable mechanic I know and they said it is running lean at idle, bit to bring it back once a CEL is thrown for further diagnostic. I'm at a loss. Some other info is the front(radiator) side valve cover gasket has been pushing oil out since the issue started. I thought there was excessive backpressure from the exhaust(maybe a cat) being restricted but that doesn't seem to he the case since I've replaced the read and removed the 3rd with no difference in performance. Thanks in advance for the knowledgeable input!

I've replace the bank 1 upstream 02 sensor as well as that(firewall) cat and no change.

Symptoms are the throttle response is sloppy as in, the vehicle runs "OK" up to 2700-3000rpm, but then studders and falls on its face above that.

Borla Mufflers Caused Power Loss

I own an '08 TL Base. I installed some Borla Pro XS mufflers today, and as I was driving back home on my daily 35 mile trip on the highway I felt my TL heavier and louder then usual. Any suggestions on what I might've done wrong?

**Previous owner removed resonator
**Exhaust pipe coming from the headers looks thinner then 2.5"... is that factory diameter?

I didn't take pictures... I was short on time and had a punctured muffler.

"ok google" voice search

I want to use google voice search on my android phone. I tapped on my phone to trigger voice search and I see the "listening ..." screen. However, no matter what I say, the phone doesn't pick up my voice. It's because the phone is connected to bluetooth to the RDX. As soon as I disable bluetooth on my phone, my voice search started to work again. Is there a way to make this work without disabling bluetooth?

FS: Drilled / Slotted Rotors (Brand New) - 4G TL

Buyer pays shipping! Brand new, never used drilled and slotted rotors for the 4G TL (from www.brakeperformance.com; come with a lifetime warranty against warping/cracking). I got these because the set I ordered with a black zinc coating had an issue with the coating. The company sent me a new set with the silver coating and I never ended up installing them. They have sat in the boxes in my attic for three years (purchased January 2016) and now that I've sold the TL it's time to get rid of these. There is a little bit of rust on the BACK SIDE of one of the fronts as you'll see in the picture. I believe it's because I didn't have the box fully sealed and the Florida humidity got to them as only the one on the top in the box has the minor issue.

Premium Cross-Drilled & Slotted Rotor Specifications

Machined And Finished In Our USA Facility

All Cross Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors are precision-machined and finished in our U.S. facility. Every rotor is inspected using the strictest quality control standards and checked for compliance with factory dimensional specifications. Our rotors are manufactured from premium-quality cast iron that meets or exceeds G3000/ISO9002,QS9000/VDA 6.1 specifications. Each rotor is double-disc ground and machine-mill balanced for optimal high-performance operation. We are so confident about the quality of our products that we offer the best warranty anywhere!

Performance Full Curve Slot Design

Each Performance Full Curve Slot is strategically machined off the edge of the rotor to dramatically improve braking performance by up to 30% over factory stock brake rotors. Our slot design removes water, dust, and debris whilst minimizing the heating of the pad surface. Slots that are machined in the center of the pad surface are inefficient and only collect dust. The edges of our slots are machine-rounded to achieve maximum degassing and dust removal.

Chamfered Cross Drilled Holes

Each Cross-Drilled hole is perfectly sized to allow for maximum ventilation without structurally weakening the brake rotors. Cross-Drilled Holes move air from the pad surface whilst reducing surface temperature, eliminating hot spots and warping. Each drilled hole is chamfered to eliminate stress cracks, as well as to provide long-lasting performance.

Zinc Plating In Black or Silver

Our Performance Rotors are Zinc coated in Black or Silver. The Zinc Coating Process is an extensive hand-applied operation that is not sprayed on like inferior coatings. Each Performance Brake Rotor is immersed in different solution tanks throughout the coating process. The final result is a thick protective coating that will help prevent rusting and give you a great custom look.

Guaranteed Fit And Installation

Brake Performance Cross-Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors are machined to the same fit and dimensions as your factory brake rotors. You can install them with no worries about factory fit or function. We recommend that you have a certified mechanic install them for proper break-in procedure. If you have any questions or need assistance choosing the correct brake rotor for your vehicle, call our brake experts toll-free at 866-756-5536. We include detailed installation instructions and break-in procedures with every kit.

Vehicle Recommendations

Cross Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors are ideal for all domestic and foreign light, medium and heavy-duty Cars, Trucks, and SUVs, as well as any vehicles that require improved braking performance. See our comparison chart for application advantages between the different types of rotors.

Looking To Buy A 09 TSX 6-Speed, What Should I Lookout For?

Hello everyone! I am new here, and hopefully this is not a duplicate post. Possibly going to purchase a 2009 TSX 6speed with around 122K tomorrow. This is the none navi version. Was just curious as to what some serious, common issues I should look into before purchasing the car, and if an inspection would be worth the investment. Recently parted ways with an 03 RSX-S and owned it for 7 years with little to minor issues, I was hoping the 09 TSX's are equally reliable. One reason I picked the TSX over the TL is I have heard the TL's have transmission issues and such, anyways I was hoping these transmissions were a little more bullet proof and do not have the common syncro issues that some Hondas/Acuras encounter. Any help would be greatly appreciated and hopefully I will be part of the TSX Owners Club Soon. Cheers.

Meat and potatoes set up

Hey everyone....Just thought I’d share my “meat and potatoes” set up:
TEIN Street Advance Z + SPC adjustable camber arms (3 piece set) + XXR 5sumthings (that are discontinued anyways) 18 x 8.75 et38 wrapped in Yokohama Tornante 245/45R18s

The TEIN SAZ are preset with a 1.5” drop from the manufacturers, camber set as close to original as possible. The ride quality so far is VERY comparable to the stock set up (IMO). Nice on mediocre roads, and goes over”normal” potholes and speedbumps with no problem.
Now, don’t get me wrong I am rubbing under certain conditions such as bridge connection areas (driver side rear mostly) or dips at high speed and under heavy load (front passenger and rear driver side only), as well as hard cornering on turns (drivers side rear mostly).
Overall, I am quite satisfied with the current set up based on my driving needs. That being said, my wife HATES the rubbing sound (drives her crazy). The only fix is to have a little more fender work done and/or switch the tire/wheel combo. Too soon to tell.

Misfire Coil Check, Now Won't Start

$

1999 TL 92K
After several fixes including new EGR, plugs, and injector o-rings, still had a CEL and a misfire.
Used a new coil to check all... pulled #3 no misfire change, so swapped for new coil, no change, still misfire on #3.
Pulled coil while running, arching well, but when I pulled coil out, engine stopped dead. Reinserted original coil...no change.
Now won't run at all, starter working, checked ign coil and ECU fuses...OK.
No fuel smell, nothing burning.
What happened? Did I blow the PCM or?
TIA Joe
