Hey new here and just got this car and know nothing about Honda’s/Acura’s and I am lost on where to start cigarette plug don’t work either don’t know that makes a difference checked the fuses under goo and all was good

Replaced one rear and one front sway bar link with help of pipe wrench

So I replaced two broken sway bar links. Of course problem was to grab at side of sway bar. At another side was 14mm socket at nut. Tried wise grip and no matter how strong I tight it pipe of sway bar turned. Tried than pipe wrench and hold it at that round ball of sway bar link. To my surprise it worked flawlessly. How much stronger I tried to turn socket wrench at another side pipe wrench grab stronger at ball. Look like pipe wrench is a must have in my portable big box of tool.

Thin/Cheap Paint

Hey TLX crew...I’m about 2 months into my 2019 TLX and have 2 small areas where the paint has chipped or pealed off... not a big deal but it is annoying and of course it’s all I see when I look at those sections of the car (front bumper, head on and passenger rear tire well).

I have never had this problem on my previous A4 or 328i.

I inspected each area and man, the pain is wafer-thin, like really thin.

Any other TLX’ers have this issue?

Rear Differential Fluid for 2018 RDX

The Maintenance Minder says that I need to change the Rear Differential Fluid. The Manual lists DPSF-II as the required fluid. I can't find it on the Internet! The 1st link on Google is "Dual Pump II Differential Fluid" which Amazon says does not fit my model:

Neither of them is DPSF-II!

Can anyone provide a link, or at least a picture, of the right fluid? Maybe an Acura part number? I remember having the same issue with my previous RDX 2008 -- and I attributed it to the car being old and service becoming spotty. But this car, and its manual, are just a year old! Why would they reference a fluid that does not exist?

No OBD2 Port

Been looking for the odb2 port, i read its under the ashtray and after checking found its not there, thinking it could of fallen down i removed the wood trim around the gear knob to find, still nothing?
Anyone have an idea on where the odb2 port could be located?

Hello Everyone
I'm looking to buy a 2016 or 2017 with low kms, possibly CPO. I'm getting these with about 30,000 kms or less at a price of about $35000 to $38000 CAD($27000 to $29000 USD). These are SHAWD Tech or Elite packages. Are these okay prices? Or can I do better?
I test drove one of these and it's a very smooth and fast car. I didn't get a chance to corner the car a lot, how does the car corner in your experience?
Anything else I should be aware of?

2017 RDX and tech - A13 after 5000 miles

Hi

Does anyone know if the transmission service indicator is based on mileage or a sensor?
I just got the tranny fluid replaced at 25000 miles as recommended by the dealership because I was getting a shuddering sound. Now the car has 30000 and is showing the A13 service which is also for oil plus transmission service.

I’m a little worried if the transmission is in trouble.

Question about RDX glass on front side windows

I have a 2017 Acura RDX advanced. I noticed the glass on the front side windows (which are not tinted) is cooler then the front windscreen when the sun is shining directly on it. Do the front side windows have any built in thermal, IR or UV protection? I tried searching, sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks in advance.

Headlights too bright?

Does factory Honda adjust the headlights the right way? My uncle bought the same car as mine and his driver side seems a little lower. I've tried to adjust my driver with a screwdriver, but when I turn, nothing seems to change. Am I doing something wrong here? I was driving home on the highway one night and driving behind a Honda Civic, he moved over to let me pass and got behind me to turn on his high beam just to proved a point, which I couldn't care less since I have dimming mirrors. Does anyone else have the same problem? Does factory come properly adjusted?

Cat Converter Bad

On Thursday evening the dash lit up like a Christmas tree again, I was like, what is it THIS time lol, dropped it off last night, just got the call, cat converter is bad (no doubt helped by the fuel mixture issue the SW update in the recent recall is intended to fix). And of course, since I have 80K miles on the car now, the factory warranty has expired. BUT WAIT, HA HA HA, I have a Platinum extended warranty! So it will be fixed with no expense to me. But this is the first time I have had a cat converter go bad in any vehicle, some of which I have had for over 10 years. Not pleased....

Pillar water leak

Anyone ever figure out where on earth is this stupid water leak is from??

My passenger pillar is soaked. I taped the windshield trim with electrician tape, it still leaks.,

If from sunroof, well it should drain down....

WTF?

Id like to install an external trans fluid cooler on my 03 Type-S. Where should the lines get hooked up to? Feed or supply line?
Pics would be a huge help.

Common rumor about the reliability of Acura AWD vehicle

I hear all the time people around me and mechanics I talk to say how the transmission on Honda’s awd system is unreliable. I have never heard about any failures of these systems I have a 2012 TL Fwd, 08 MDX SHAWD. Other cars around me are 2011 TL SHAWD(200k miles), 2005 MDX awd (310k miles), 2006 MDX awd (270k miles). These have been totally solid cars and haven’t had any trans issues nor any issues with the awd components.

On the the forums I have never seen anyone talk about a failing awd component. Rarely a transmission issue on the forums I’m on (4G TL). Where did this myth come from?
i know early MDX and TL had trans issues but they were not at all limited to awd models

TSX VS 350Z : Handling!

I just thought it would be a fun discussion. I originally wanted to buy a 350z but decided against it. I am a student with a low income and I did not want to pay extra for insurance and gas. The TSX won because it was still a little fun and sporty but WAY MORE REALISTIC and probably reliable.

Anyone in here that has owned or driven both? I know the handling has good ratings on the TSX and that is what won me over on it. Do you think it handles better than a 350z? I read a few places that the Z does not handle that great. Kind of numb. And the visibility is not as good either.

For a daily driver a Z might not have been logical for me at this time. BUT I have always loved them and the design of them.

Fresh tires on my type S

Just got the car 3 weeks or so ago and have been living every turn of the wrench to get it up to speed. Done alot so far mechanically, tb/wp, trans switches, serp belt, 2x3, 2 side motor mounts, and finally TIRES. Bought new set of Continental Extreme Contact Sports, the guy I bought the car from had 3 different tires on it a blizzak and a continental dws on the front and 2 cupped bald kumhos on the rear. After 100 miles so far these tires made a HUGE difference. Now I just need to replace a compliance bushing and figure out why it pulls to the left a bit. Thought you guys might enjoy a pic, imo this is one of the best looking cars in the last 20 years.

I'll push them around a bit and let you guys know how the specs are on them, I've read bad things on the treadware, and I'm about to find out.

'16 RDX Nav screen turns on each time I start car

Hi,

Just picked up a used 2016 RDX w Tech package. Each time I start the car, the Navi screen automatically turns on. Can I adjust the settings so when I start the car, the Navi Screen does NOT turn on automatically?
