Good evening, I have a 2009 TSX 2.4 K24. I have to replace the engine.I do have a few engines choices to choose from locally. But I have a Cali emission system. The catalytic converter is different and the obd flash would be also. Could I swap in a Federal emission system motor? The engine I have eyes on has 84k on it! I got a pic of the engine bay emission tag from car as a reference.
Has anyone come across this situation? I do see those engine numbers on the bottom right of the decal,Im sure those are seriel numbers for the engine type. Any help would be appreciated!
So I bought this car from the auction a few days ago and during the 50 mile drive home it ran good except for some minor vibrations and a decent jolt could be felt when the transmission shifted from 1st to 2nd. I parked it when I get home and then the next morning when I started it I heard it a pretty significant whining and thats when the slipping in first and second started. If I put it in manual mode it seem to do a lot better and when I started in second gear Everything seemed just fine. So again I parked it in this morning when I went out to start working on it I noticed the whine was gone Or at least significantly quieter and it seemd to drive OK. I dont have any CEL on But I decided to hook my scanner up to it anyways and I got No Permanent Codes, But under temporary codes I but under temporary codes I got got code P0741. Im a decent mechanic but when it comes to this type of stuff Im clueless. Please help me out. Am I looking at a new transmission, or something easier?
Honestly, my RDX is a sweet ride. After reading about all these oil dilution issues with some members on this forum, I wanted to make sure I wasn't one of them. I drove a 20-mile loop on the highway and I allowed the throttle to be open a lot harder tonight. OH MAN OH MAN, the power of this car is simply amazing. I was restraining myself to drive "normally" and not allowing to hit 3.5-4K RPM until I hit 600 miles. Well tonight, I drove it hard and fast. All I can say, I am SOOO happy I got this car. The sheer acceleration and power are so much more than the previous V6 engines on my 2015 TLX.
I really enjoyed my drive tonight. Anyway, I got back and waited about 2 minutes and check my oil level; it was perfect and right below the top marking on the dipstick. Not sure how people can tell but oil has some level of gasoline smell to them. I know because I do my own oil changes. I do feel for the owners that are experiencing these issues. I do warm up the car before I head out. I hope Acura will support those with this issue.
My wife's 2017 RDX is about 20 months old with 12,700 km, and today she parked it and whereas the engine shut down, the electronics stayed on and will not turn off. It's now in our garage, with accessory mode stuck on. Tried the Acura dealer, but it was after hours, and then tried Roadside Assistance and got a long runaround. I am hoping to know:
1. how can it be turned off?
2. if that can't be done easily, is there some damage that could result and therefore should I disconnect the battery?
Cannot get anyone until morning, but if anyone has had a similar experience I'd love to hear how this was resolved. Thanks.
Has anyone had issues with the leather on the steering wheel cracking? Suddenly, (and I do mean out of the blue in the last two weeks) there are a series of small cracks in the outer edge of my steering wheel leather, at the 12 and 6 O-Clock positions. I do not know why. Just very fine cracks, suddenly. Any input on what has caused this and what to do about it? I am a bit mystified.
my car was recently in an accident, after the crash the headlight was cracked open but everything worked fine. eventually rain got to the headlights before i did, causing my hid low beam and normall high beam to stop working. i bought new housings, hid low beams, and hid high beams, installed them and neither worked. i can assume the ballast got water in it which is why the low beam wont work, but what about the separately connected high beam? also, by switching my high beam and fog lights to xenon bulbs do i need a ballast to power those as well? & is there a power rating for ballast to bulbs?
so i have a 2006 acura tl with 178,000 miles on it. as of recently my check engine light came on. i went into autozone and it came back as my o2 senors. i then went to my mechanic and they said my o2 do not need to be replaced and that it issue could be underlying like my computer could be busted or there are dirty wires or a rotted wire. the car runs very smooth but the engine light just keeps staying on even when they disconnected it from the battery. as of recently when my car is just sitting, its hard to start it. itll make the clicking noise before turning on and its run smooth the entire time. when i turn it off and back on a second or third time it would start perfectly fine. but when i first start the car, the vsa, abs and engine lights are on but when i turn it off and on again it the vsa and abs lights would turn off until i start it up the next day itd do the same thing over again. i red somewhere it could be a battery, as mine is now 3 years old. i just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and what i should do.
In the market for a used MDX. Looking at 2015 or '16 models because they fit our budget. Would you focus your search on the '15 models to avoid the 9-speed tranny? Or, go for a '16 because its a year newer (and also many more of them on the market currently). Any insight is greatly appreciated!
I need to replace the windshield on my 2015 TLX 2WD Base 4 cyc engine with 43k miles on it. Anyone know the typical cost or replacement? And where should I get it done? I'm afraid to go to the dealership for the cost and I hear they do not replace with the OEM original. I got an online quote from Safelite Auto Glass for about $450. I'm planning to get it replaced in a couple of weeks.
Other thoughts and recommendations are welcome :) Thanks
Hello my fellow Acura buddies, This is Jessica. back here after long time.
Need help with options please. I just purchased a 2012 TSX SE from auctions and its missing front Seats seems like theft. I cant seem to find a used set.
Can anyone maybe recommend alternative to this maybe any after market seats? all help is appreciated, I am trying to give this car to my younger sister as the car is in decent shape.
thank you all in advance.
I've had my 19 ILX Tech ASpec for two months now with just 1400 miles on the odometer and I've noticed a rattling that's getting progressively worse. I've noticed it shortly after purchase but it only started after well into my drive and it's very subtle and only triggered by going over rough or uneven surfaces. Atleast 30 minutes or more of driving will start to produce the rattle. It doesn't make a peep when driving over these same surfaces before the car is fully warmed up. I was certain it was coming from the dashboard, possibly from under the dash or behind the gauge cluster. It appears to be a metallic sound that has a small resonation to it. It does not sound like your typical plastic clip rattle. Now the reason i'm not certain it's coming from behind the dash is because i swear I can slightly feel it in the floor board but i'm not sure if i'm just imagining this. When i hear the noise it most definitely sounds like its coming from somewhere under the dash or behind the cluster. It still only starts 30 more or more into my drive but it's so bad now that when i pull into my neighborhood after a long drive I can hear it loudly and consistently down my entire road (which can be alittle bumpy and uneven).
So with that being said has anyone experienced something like this before? Do you know what might be causing it? I know the dealer is going to brush me off since they will never hear it on a test drive unless the car is warmed up and even then you really have to hit a specific type of road for it to go off repeatedly.
Ok so i bought an 06 TL eith 142000 on it now has 148000 and the trans is starting to slip a little the trans fluid looks like oil so i doubt it has ever been maintained im thinking about doing a 3x3 flush and replacing switches what are my chances this will fix it or wpuld i be netter off selling it before its worthless
I generally listen to SiriusXM or Spotify while driving in my vehicle, but I wanted to try listening to FLAC music to get the full 3D experience in my RDX. I downloaded a FLAC album via a torrent website and transferred the music files to a USB stick and stuck it in the USB slot next to the cup holders. But for whatever reason, the vehicle won't recognize the songs. Maybe there's something that I'm missing here, but I would've thought it would be as simple as just transferring the files to the usb stick and plugging it in. The music plays without issue on my computer...
My local Honda dealer is three blocks from my business - the two ACURA dealers are 1-2 hours drive. My Honda dealer is blowing me off... Maybe it was different for you?
