Driving this afternoon, when using the NAV for directions, I set the zoom to 1/2 mile as I typically do when starting out. When I approached the first designated turn and slowed to make the turn, the display screen zoomed in tighter to show more street detail as I slowed, then zoomed back out to 1/2 mile when I got back up to my previous speed. Has Acura slipstreamed an update that I didn't notice (had to be Sunday or Monday), or have I just managed to change some mystery setting that allows this behavior? I don't find any version numbers different than before (D.1.1.2). Nice feature, almost like a real NAV system is expected to behave. Now, if I could just get her to stop with the multiple "Join the highway" directives when going up the on-ramps I wouldn't yearn so much for my 15 year old Garmin.
Hi all, I'm looking at buying a used MDX and see a few low mileage options in the market right now.
08 with tech and entertainment packages. single owner. 60k miles. $13K
09 with tech package. single owner. 60k miles. $12K
12 with tech package. single owner. 62k miles. $19K
12 with advanced and entertainment packages. 2 owners, current one has had it for 5 years. 90k miles. $20K (this one looks to be in the best condition from photos)
I'm buying the car for AWD in the snow. Entertainment package is attractive for me as I have the same option in my Honda Odyssey and the kids use the DVD player all the time on road trips which is what the MDX will be for.
Would love feedback from you all on:
- Any watch outs for particular years?
- What types of questions/issues to ask about?
- Is it worth paying $6K more for the 2012 model over the 08/09? I think major differences are slightly updated exterior styling (not worth it to me) and the 6 speed transmission and slightly better gas mileage (is this worth $6K?)
- Which would you pick? (assuming they all pass mechanic's inspection)
Recently I found that the tailgate was beeping and not closing when I pressed the buttom. You had to pull the tailgate up and down for several times to make it work. And sometimes it wouldnt open either. Had my dealer do the inspection but they found nothing going wrong. Computer got reset...doesnt help at all. Then I was told to go to the body shop.
Anyone has any idea at this time why is this happening? I will see body shop tomorrow. Hopefully they can fix it.
I have a 19 Tech. I noticed in the past week that the street names are not showing up on the compass screen in the instrument cluster. I can still see the names on the bottom of the Nav screen. I havent made any settings changes other than adjustments to the brightness. If anyone else has had this problem and knows how to correct it, please comment. Thx
Forget the track, this is a McLaren for long distance trips on the road.
First teased in early March, McLaren's upcoming grand tourer hits the road again in new images that whet the appetites of wealthy potential buyers. The company promises to start ripping off the camouflage on April 30. The concept of a more comfortable McLaren model that specializes in eating up miles at high speeds continues to be very intriguing.
The model's actual name still isn't clear, and the brand simply refers to it as the McLaren of Grand Tourers. According to the company, the example in these photos shows off the vehicle's final shape, and the body no longer wears the fake body panels from the coupe in the previous teaser shot (below).
The new shots reveal a more curvaceous rear deck. There are vents at the top of the fenders. Skinny LED taillights cut through an opening in the tail. A pair of big exhausts with chrome tips grab attention because of their visual contrast with the rest of the design.
In front, the design is fairly simple with a low nose and pointy headlights. An expansive, wraparound windshield looks like it would offer excellent forward visibility.Currently, McLaren only confirms that the grand tourer gets power from a twin-turbo V8. "It’s a car that has been designed for distance and one that will also provide the comfort and space expected of a Grand Tourer. But with a level of agility never experienced before in this segment," McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt said when originally announcing the model.
The next step in the development is a 1,000-mile (1,609-kilometer) trip from McLaren's development center near Barcelona, Spain, to the automaker's headquarters in Woking, England. To check the vehicle's level of comfort, the two test drivers plan to take the journey in a single stint while carrying all of their luggage.
I have a 2017 Acura Truck MDX SH-AWD 3.5L FI SOHC 6cyl. I had a windshield crack and had it replaced at a place that said they could do it, but the windshield may need to be recalibrated. When I went to calibrate the camera for the car at the dealer they stated, that since the windshield was not OEM, the calibration would not work. They tried it, and then the car cameras stopped working. Also, a DTC code came up C0041, after they tried to calibrate it. They stated that since the windshield was not an OEM, the calibration failed. I took the car back to the windsheild replacement place and they had recently obtained OptiAim and they could recalibrate the windshield. They were able to successfully recalibrate it but now the cameras don't seem to display. Everything else is functional. The lane assist. The ADAS, The proximity alert. They all work. Just not the display of the cameras.
We had the C0041 cleared by the dealer and the calibration redone, but the cameras still state they need to be reaimed.
This is my 2019 Tech with a few visible accessories, mainly the roof rails, roof rack and the fog lamps that don't come standard on the Tech. The entire front is wrapped in 3M PPF and I'm applying Opti Coat this weekend over the PPF. This pic was from our hike on Saturday near Brevard, NC in Pisgah Forest. It's a little dusty because we had to drive it down a few miles of a fire access road to get to this spot, but that's why I got this thing!!!!
My "Menu" and "Setting" button seem to be stuck together, button still works depending on which one you push, they just both goes in when push, any suggestion to get them seperated?
Had the valve adjustment done on Friday and everything was fine until I started the car up Saturday morning and got the tighten fuel cap message. I drove around for a while and the next time I started the car, the TFC message was gone. The following time I got in the car I got a check emission system message with the code p0496. Is there any record of this fault code post adjustment while the computer adapts to the new valve tensions? I'm hoping it will resolve itself with a few more driving cycles, but if someone with more knowledge could let me know if this is not possible, i'd appreciate it.
I am replacing my passanger side headlight assembly, ballast and ignitor before i replace them i was thinking of swaping both sides with the newer jewel headlights im not much of a modder and have been having trouble researching if it will fit the car and if convering from hid to led is possible

I get a message that says "you are using a disk that is older than the downloaded version" every time I get in the car. It came with a sleeve for a nav dvd that had a burned green day cd in it... so I am wondering what is the newest navigation disc I can get? And is that a dealer only thing, or can I do the data and burn it to a disk?
I found a pair of Konig gold milligrams 18x8.5 25mm offset . With tires for 300$ I was reading about offset and some say 25mm is ok and some say differently. The tires are 225/40/18 . I unfortunately cannot try on my car before I buy them Because Im picking up far away during work in my company truck . Will these be ok ? Im picking them up tomorrow around noon . So hope to hear any bad news before then ha
