Would a set of rims from an Acura RL fit the TL? Tire size on the rims are 245 50 17. Too fat?

TLX Gauges

No offense to anyone who has a TLX, but is it just me or do the gauges, especially the tach and speedo, seem somewhat "plain jane" compared to previous gen TL's?

Just curious on opinions of other forum members....

Test drove i4 Tech

Finally got a chance to test drive the i4 tech this week ( I have test drove v6 tech before) and I like it

The i4 definitely feels like an i4 but it is very fast when push hard. Under Normal driving, it feels refined/smooth but nothing special--and it's not bad thing for daily commute

The 8 speed dct is very fast but the gears are very close so I have to down shift at least 2-3 gears to get some power out of the car. Probably because I have a v6 with 5 speed and each gear is much farther apart on my TL compare to the a TLX

I was semi underwhelming with the power on the i4 (but I have always own a v6) until the salesman said push it hard. I did and I gotta say the engine does well when push hard(aggressive driving)

I did not experience any jerkiness or noise of anything. The drive was very brief without traffic.

Still hate the i4 wheels and love the v6 wheels. Before test drive the i4, the magazine got me thinking of buying a i4 but now after test driving the i4, the v6 will definitely be reconsider. I will test drive them back to back to see

Everything else is much better than my 04 TL with the exception of the rear end , I still like the expose tail pipe :) on my 04

TL: 02 TL component speaker overhaul questions

I'm going to be replacing the deck and components in the tl and have them powered by an aftermarket 4 channel amp. This is my plan and need to know if the stock Bose system will get in the way.

I will not be using the factory sub.

See if his makes seance.

Deck with harness to harness on vehicle. Only connecting power, ground, and remote. Leaving the rest of the wires free.

Run 9 wire from amp, and connect to speaker channels from harness connecting to the factory harness. So I could just plug and play speakers at each location. Ex: door panels, rear panels....etc

If by doing this can I just unplug the factory amp letting me use the current wiring within the car like how a normal setup would be?

Rant: Damn you unreal

So one of my teachers has been hyping us up talking about the new unreal 4 engine and how our school was supposed to get it. We saw what the engine can do in real time and I was plenty amazed. Now the school wont get it because of the way the end user license agreement is written makes the school "responsible" for anything that get created with it. im not even 100% sure what that means I think its about copyrights

So say for shits and giggles I decided to recreate oh say XENOGEARS using the unreal 4 engine I do it just for fun cuz it my second fav game of all time. Square could sue the school for my copyright infringement. :whyme:

I wanted to share one of the videos that showed them making the tech demo for the ps4. It showed them editing models and changing the lighting and you could see the instant changes that Maya would either just not show (you would have to render just to see the difference), or would cause her to crash.

With Maya and other Autodesk software the educational versions have a digital mark that lets people know that the software is not for commercial use.

just give me the shit at a discount like Adobe:tomato:

Tire help

I have a 2010 Sh-AWD and I recently went to have a slow leak checked, only to find that it has 3 nails in it and is unable to be plugged. Saleman tells me because I have AWD I cannot just replace 2 tires I have to replace all 4 at the same time because, if not it will tear up the vehicles AWD. Is this TRUE? Secondly anyone have any tire recommendations for an all season 245/45/18. Thanks in advance.

Help me. TL-S blows fuse when put in reverse

I own a 2007 Acura TL-S 6 MT. At first I was having a problem with the starter, then on one start up my gauges, windshield wipers, windows, and back-up camera wouldn't work. I found out it was a blown fuse. I replaced it and everything started working again, until i went into reverse and nothing worked. I checked the fuse and it was blown. Any ideas what it could be?

TLX SH-AWD should be arriving this week

Former 4G owners to TLX comparison?

I read this forum almost daily and maybe I have overlooked this. I'm seeking reviews of those that stepped out of the 4G, specifically the SH-AWD and bought the either the v6 or the I4 TLX. I'm a current owner of a 2013 SH-AWD and I have yet to test drive the TLX. I'm just curious of your side by side comparisons. I know the TLX SH-AWD has yet to hit the lots but I'm thinking this time around I will just go with the FWD. Either the 4 or the 6 cyl.

Factory Pick-Up?

We just got home from a Rhine River cruise, where one of the side trips was to the MB plant in Rastatt, Germany. The new GLA crossover was being built that day, the CLA other days plus the B-Class on a different line. We did note the busy prep area where, we're told, 200 cars a week are delivered to customers right there. I had visions of buying one in the US, then picking it up in Germany, blasting around the countryside for a couple of weeks, then having them ship the car to the dealer. Vetoed! My wife refused to navigate and she didn't want to mess with the nav system.

Question: Is there a program where a starry-eyed future TLX customer like myself could trek to the far away land called Ohio, watch the car being built, then blast around the hills and valleys of the nearby states on the way home? Or is that just a dream?

Here is the pic, I figured that there were already so many tutorials online that it wasn't worth my time to do another, I am sorry. I was also fighting an incoming rain storm (welcome to Florida). Let me know what you think...

Surprise Coming...

I know I just Plasti-dipped my Infiniti M45 wheels (another thread). They are 18X8, with a 47mm offset. I do like them, and I think that they handle much better than the tiny 6.5" OEM wheels. I am sick. I have an illness that doesn't let me be happy with anything I do. That being said, stick around later today for a surprise! (if I tell you now, it wouldn't be a surprise now, would it???)

DIY Front Wheel Bearing?

Front right has been making some noise consistent with a wheel bearing.
Ordered a new one & need to replace it. Pretty sure these have to be pressed out.

How much of this can I do in my driveway pretty much with just hand tools? I know the hub nut is a pain to remove, but I haven't had it taken apart past there before.

Might be able to get a friend that works in a shop to help with it, but thinking worst case, where I need to get the knuckle pulled & take it to a shop to have the bearing pressed out/in.

No lap times yet

I just received my copy of Car and Driver in the mail last night. The TLX did not make the Lightning Lap this year, so it will be awhile before we get an actual track test. No mention of the TLX in Motor Trend this month either (other than ads).

It was interesting that the lightning lap seperated car classes between 35K and below versus 35K and above. Obviously the TLX has two distinct cars in both categories, so I am not sure how they would handle that one.

Courtesy lights?

Are there no courtesy lights in the doors? I looked but haven't seen them. This boggles my mind that a 1990 accord had them in all four doors and newer models do not. The newest Accord has cheap looking plastic caps in the door panels where a light would go. Was hoping Acura would do something LED.

Silver star rims from TSX fit?

I really dislike the 2.4 rims- actually all TLX rims. So I'm wondering if my gunmetal accesory silver star rims would fit. They are 17" by 7 with a 55mm offset. I've read the TLX 2.4 rims are 17 by 17.5 so would this be a problem?? Thanks
