im not sure if anyone has asked this question or if its been discussed. i did a search and couldnt find anything. but id like to know if anyone has upgraded/programmed the newer, heavier key fob from 5G TLX to work on the 4G TL. i always liked the heavier feel of the TLX key fob versus the look and feel of our cheaper, lighter, scratch-prone 4G TL key fob.
Up for sale are my gently used Bridgestone Blizzak WS80s in 235/45R/17. Two of them are at 8/32 and the other two are at 7/32. They have been used for two winter seasons (about 10 months of road time) and stored in my garage during the off season. They are in excellent condition and still have tons of life left.
Hi everyone. 1 month old 2014 Acura TL owner here. Love the car so far! Ran into a little problem today while working under the hood and am in need of advice.
I am installing an aftermarket amp and sub into the car, so I was running a power cable from the battery to the trunk. Note: No equipment has been connected yet. Just a basic run of the cable from the hood to the trunk. After an hour or so I ran the power line back to the trunk. It started raining shortly before I finished. After the rain stopped, I went to open the car and noticed that my fob was no longer working. I had to use the key to get into the car. Once I got in and inserted the fob, the car would not start. Just clicking. I had the door open for quite a while(while the fob was inserted), so I figured the battery just drained. I jumped the car and it started up like normal. However, the fob was still not working. Also, my nav screen and head unit were not powering on. Everything else works fine. The only things affected were the keyless entry, Nav, and head unit. I figure I must've somehow blown a fuse or accidentally jiggled something loose while running the cable through the firewall (drivers side). Any ideas what fuse would affect those items simultaneously?
I have to constantly push this back in place. Also am I the only one banging my knee when I get in car in a hurry ?
Im wondering if its just my car but this leather piece pops out everytime someone is in and out passenger door.
The family list so far includes two 86 Preludes, 86 Honda Accord, 92 Integra, 03 Civic EX, 04 Civic Hybrid (still running on 3rd battery), and 03 CL Type S. All manuals. Proud of all 3 of my daughters learning to drive with a stick. Sadly, the CL was parked in a flash flood last week and we are looking to replace it while also rehabbing the wet one, starting with hopefully resetting the ECM, thanks to instructions found on the forum.
Hello i got a 2001 Acura TL 3.2 and i just noticed this maybe they all do this i doubt it why it seems so stupid anyways if anyone can tell me if there is something missing or that needs to be Tightened up please let me know I have a link to the video for the issues here
I just installed coilovers 2 days ago. Started feeling vibration on the gas padle vibrate when accelerating between 40km/h-60km/h and then it goes away. See picture below.
Never had this issue before lowering. Its running on 19 inch oem wheels and the tires are brand new. I was told not to do alignment for a week to let the coils settle in first.
Anyone can help or had the same issue?? Or direct to me a similar thread with people having the same issue and how they fixed it? I am worried that something might break..lol
My Gen 2 TL factory alarm system will go off every time after midnight when there is super light rain it went off 3 times at the point that I got so mad I dented the car and I took a wrench out and unplug that battery.
Where is that factory alarm system module located to detect vibrations or what not.
I check my cameras outside at that time and no one's around the car and no one's running away from it.
I scraped up my passenger side view mirror. It's not too bad, but it adjusts a little wonky now. I looked at the parts diagram, and it looks like I just needing a mirror housing but I don't how difficult it would be transferring all the internals and mirror cap to a new housing without breaking something. It just be easier to get a used mirror and bolt it on, although I hate to take about the door panel with all the plastic clips that are easily broken.
Any instructions out there on how to replace a side view mirror? It can't be that difficult, and I'm confident it's a common repair.
I recently had to replace a neglected J35A8 with 227K in my RL due to oil consumption that led to a burnt valve on Cyl #5. I sourced a 60K mile engine and installed it myself. I was also getting codes for the rear cat before the swap, so I decided to buy the RV6 HFPC kit and replace both of them. After pulling the old engine, I found that the side, front and rear engine mounts were broken, so I replaced them. I did not touch the transmission mount, though I left the trans in the car when I pulled the motor. Now that everything is together and I've driven it for a week, I noticed (on day one) that there is excessive vibration/noise at low RPMs and low rpm 5th gear cruising. What do you think the issue could be? do the HFPCs cause that much of an exhaust note change that I can feel and hear it in the car? I equate the vibration/noise to that of my old CRX with a b series swap on Hasport poly bushing mounts. It was very loud from the vibration, but I expected and enjoyed it since it was purpose built to go fast and be fun.
The car runs and shifts great otherwise and I don't hear this noise outside of the cabin area. There's no knocking noise like something is hitting the sub-frame or anything. It's just so drone-y compared to what it was before. I'd like to get it back to the very quiet operation that it was before, but I cannot for the life of me, find the source of my problem. I hope someone can confirm if the RV6 cats cause the low RPM noise or if they would not and if the new motor mounts could cause it, due to a break-in period. I doubt it's the mounts though.

I know theres already an entire exhaust thread, but Ive only seen these mentioned once. I found a pair of 22 MBRP resonators, and was hoping to find out if anyone has any experience with them on an sh-awd. I have borla mufflers and like the sound Ive got, but Im trying to get a bit more. I know a new j pipe is a good go-to. Just figured Id see if anyones tried these. Dont wanna pull the trigger on them and then have to live in droneville.
This afternoon my wife's 2017 MDX was broken into, with the thieves taking off with a few of her credit cards. Luckily her and the kids are ok, Initially we though that she may have forgotten to lock the car, but after doing a visual inspection I noticed that the keyhole was slightly mangled and the Acura key will no longer fit into it. Has anyone heard of or seen where a foreign object or lock picks would be able to open that lock?
I would like to swap out the rear blinkers with led lights. Has anyone had any luck after using them for a while and not having hyperflash? Link to product? Thanks in advance!
Hello all looking for some help with the exact location of the low and high tone horns. I have an 05 TL that was built 10/04. I purchased both of the OEM Bosch horns. Pictures would be preferable but detailed info would be much appreciated before i tackle this job as i believe the low tone horn is out. Thank you in advance community.
Just picked up 2019 MDX tech package. The tracking on the navigation is nowhere close on the map. Dealer reset the software and Acuralink also had me do this through the settings tab. The service manager said that it has been an issue for years and that Acura has no fix??? Very frustrating to pay for the navigation and it not work. Has anyone had this issue and found a fix?
I got a sweet deal on some Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus so tried a +1size setup as the roads here in México are horrible... Went with 265/60-18s.. Stock size is 255/55-18s. The tires look way bigger than they are but there is no clearance issues and the ride is much MUCH Improved under the war zone roads in Baja..
They fill the wheel wells so nicely no more 1ft long space between the tire and the fender.
Gotta try them in the corners now, But so far the ride will compensate for any performance loss.
