So I bought an 2000 RL about 2 months ago and have been going through the motions of getting it ready for the summer. I did everything I wanted to mechanically, and moved on to the sound system.
Originally the car came with the standard Bose Sound System, I searched relentlessly to figure out way to bypass it, but with no luck I looked into in line converters.
I stumbled upon an old forum post about PAC converters and found one that actually worked!
Basically this eliminates all those pops and cracks that tend to happen to our radios once we install aftermarket HUs or speakers.
My current set up is Sonys all the way around with a Sony Single Din - which i will be replacing with a DD soon. ( I just wanted to see if it would work first ).
Since, I figured all this out ( and it worked ) I went into the next part of running in the 0g power wire for the system.
THERE IS NO ACCESS THROUGH THE FIREWALL.
I searched high and low couldnt find one thing that worked, so I kept looking and noticed that the main wire harness runs through the driver foot well so I removed the driver fender and BOOM grommet access.
Now, it may be a lot of work getting it through, but the knowledge that it will be in a safe place and not having to run it underneath the car ( my plan b ) was awesome.
Ill link pictures below.
I havent finished it just yet because I figured fenders off start doing HID fog conversions and all led blinkers, but thats tomorrows plan.
when the system is completed ill update on where i grounded and all that good stuff. Hopefully this helps you guys!!
The first wash of a new car is a scary event because this is almost always when we find those little defects and warts that we hadn't previously noticed. We were pretty lucky, especially since our RDX had been driven for a couple of months by the Dealership GM's wife, and had 2,500 miles on it. Only warts we've found are a teeny tiny dark area (less than 1mm) on the paint and a teeny tiny flaw in the rear window glass (a light colored area, less than the size of the head of a pin). You have to really go looking and zoom in on either of these, otherwise, you'd never notice.
Otherwise, the construction detail of this car is immaculate- every seam perfectly aligned.
What's your experience with the first wash? Was your baby perfect?
Hello Fellas...we recently sold our 2008 Highlander and switched over to a 2017 MDX. We used a tow hitch cargo carrier on the Highlander and wanted to switch to a roof rack cargo box. I really wanted a white INNO Wedge 665 box but I found a great deal on this Thule Force XT L on OfferUp which I couldn't pass up. I tested fitted it this morning on my OEM style factory cross bars from ebay and the fit was great. I figured I'd share...enjoy!
Last pic of the Highlander before we sold it...gave us a solid 10+ years but it was getting up there on the miles...
Found nothing in the manual or anything directly on point. Aftermarket tint installers are stating that factory tint does not provide UV protection but obviously need to take that with a. Grain of salt. Does the 3G RDX factory tint provide UV protection?

Hi, I have a 06 TL Non Navi and while I'm driving, sometimes the sound goes away, the radio screen is still on but I can't hear anything, or turn off the radio, and I can't change to cd / radio with the stereo, but with the steering wheel I can change, I have to turn the car off and on to listen again.
Has anyone had this problem?, I already search but in the post with a similar problem are not solved. Sorry for my english xD

Does anyone on the forum use a Deionized washing system when rinsing their vehicles? I am looking at the following but haven't pulled the trigger yet. It appears to be a far better choice than the more common "Spotless" system you can find on Amazon which is a cartridge based system and only lasts about 300 gallons.
I am looking at either the Pro 100 or Pro 50. Looks to be a far better unit and can handle 2000 - 4000 gallons of rinse before the resin needs to be replaced. Anyone have a unit they are very happy with? It will be awesome to rinse off the car and let it air dry with ZERO spots:clap:
I was woken up this morning to my TLs car alarm going off. When I went to go check on it there was a little light on my dash with a key and ! The screen read out Check Keyless Entry System. I was able to start my car, but it took multiple pushes of the push to start when it normally only takes one. If I leave the car locked the alarm goes off, so I just disconnected my battery till I found out a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hey I recently got an 04 TL and would like to put some Tein s tech lowering springs on it but Im not sure if they will drop my car too much for the wheels and tires I have on there now. It says itll drop the car around 1.5 but I have roughly 1.5 between my tire and wheel well right now, so Im not sure with the geometry of the wheel and when I turn or hit a bump if my tire is going to run on the well. If anyone has any input or experience with this please let me know, I think my tires are 235/45/r19 off the top of my head. Could be r18. Thank you very much!
Need to part ways with my original wheels sice they're taking up space now. Will ship to the lower 48 states. Willing to negotiate on price if shipping gets expensive. Pickup in Phoenix, AZ is recommended.
