Well, here I am!

I am new to this forum, but not really new to cars. I spent my working career in the auto industry working for some of the big names. Loved my job but now retired and enjoying life. I am picky about what I drive now since I have to actually pay for the car I have. I have been a long time Toyota/Nissan/Honda fan but wanted to move up to something a little more upscale as I grow older. I had a wonderful 2017 CR-V that I loved but when the new RDX came out I lusted for it. Finally found a very good deal on a new red one, Advanced, SH-AWD at a very reasonable price and I traded up. There were a few things, like the GPS on my Honda, that I miss but over all the new RDX is one lovely vehicle with no issues that are deal breakers but lots of features that are deal makers.

I look forward to exploring the experiences of others here and have already learned a lot about this vehicle from the members here.

Hey guys my name is McCallum, I have an 02 Accord Coupe with the J30A1. Been slowly building it piece by piece! Hope you like the pictures! I run a CBD business and I do delivery for Pizza Hut on the side. This is my DD and has been good to me. All interior speakers have been done as well with a 10in sub in the trunk. Worked as a detailer for awhile so I love making this thing shine in the AZ sun. Whole exhaust system has been done as well as the intake system. 😄

Hood Closed Properly?

When I close the hood, it seems like there is a gap in the front. The sides look fine. Anyone else has this? If feels secure but just looks weird to me.

I have a 2004 TL, pearl white beautiful she is. I recently lost my keys and honestly everytime I have $ I never think about our a replacement. Well i really want to know if there's anyway possible in turning on my car? I do have a valet key but without a chipped key it seems it doesn't want to turn over when it cranks..I almost got her towed away by the city because it's a foot or two on the red zone. I tried pushing it but it's not that very easy. dont want to loose her. Please help if anybody knows something. Thanks

FS: NJ Vossen VFS-2 Wheels & RS-R Coilovers

I have a used set of 20" Vossen VFS-2 wheels. They are staggered...wider in the rear. Front tires are 245/35/20. Rear tires are 275/30/20. Tires are Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06. Tires have about 70% of their tread left. Sizes were matched up and this setup worked on my AWD TLX with no issues. Fitment is also perfect with no rubbing whatsoever.

I also have a used RS-R coiler set. Sports*I model. Product SKU: XSPIH900M

Used for 15K miles or so...in perfect condition. Fully adjustable so you can dial in the ride style you want.

1999 Acura Starts Occasionally - Help?

Okay, so this is my first time posting so if I screw anything up, my bad.

So... My lovely 1999 Acura TL 3.2 is being a bit of a fussy bitch. It starts occasionally, usually after a day the first time I start it, it actually starts. After that, everything will work but the damned green key icon won't come on and it won't actually start. Now, I know that the ignition switch is often the cause but I literally replaced it four days ago. Still doing the same BS.

Here are the things I've done just in this month alone:

Replaced to alternator
Changed the oil and oil filter
Replaced the spark plugs
Changed the gas cap
Replaced the battery
Replaced the ignition switch
Replaced various fuses

And yet, it is still doing this crap. I'm not a mechanic and honestly, if I had no other choice I'd just get a different car but that just isn't in the cards for me. If anyone can give me advice or help me in any way, I'll greatly appreciate it! And also, I live in a hick town where there is only one mechanic and he is a grade A dickweed who would charge me more than what I paid for the car to really look at it.

I'll go ahead and include the codes that came up when I got them read. At the moment I'm waiting for payday to replace my car battery wires since the negative wire is frayed all to hell. I'll also post a video of what my car does when I try to start it and it doesn't actually start.

Hi guys,

I own a 2010 Acura TSX - don't know much about cars so sorry for my ignorance...

I caught a curb at a shopping mall parking garage over a year ago and damaged the bottom of my car (rocket panel?!).

When I look at the car it looks like its a part of one large piece but wondering if it can be fixed without replacing the entire thing?

I have searched in vain online to try and price the part for a while. Can someone help shed some light on this for me? What part needs to be replaced? Any idea of the cost?

XLR8 Res change to Dynomax?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently thinking about adding a dynomax resonator to my XLR8 exhaust. I got the resonated version and it's just not loud/deep enough. Has anybody done this?

My current setup is, XLR8 resonated exhaust, Endless rpm jpipe+high flow cats.

2019 Advanced in Sport mode

We’re thinking of buying a 2109 MDX Advanced. I have a 2012 MDX Tech. I’ve been pretty happy with it with one exception. In sport mode the transmission won’t stay in first gear. I do a lot of fishing and have to work down some fairly step grades on gravel roads. I’d like to use engine breaking. I start out in first gear but almost immediately it shifts to second and I have to ride the breaks all the way down.

My my question is does the 2019 8 speed transmission behave that way or will it stay in 1st gear?

Transmission Pressure Switches

Does anyone know of a good video or knows how to change the transmission pressure switches on a 2008 Acura TL? Also which ones should I change? My car does a slight jolt back and forward when I let off the accelerator when I'm going downhill. By no means is it major but it almost rocks back and forward about 3-4 times. Thanks for the help!

MISC: Power Drain

Hi, new member, I’ve had a UK version Legend 2006 (KB1) now for 6mths, from ownership it has suffered with power drain that within a week if not used, I have to use a booster pack to get her going which struggles due to amps needed to fire up the lump, I’ve had the battery and alternator tested and they’ve been deemed fit and healthy, my Bluetooth doesn’t work and it’s been suggested that this may be just the cause, although I’ve had the head unit out, I was unable to locate it, or really know what I’m looking for, anyone suffered a similar drain or know where I go from here, the car is far too good to let go but I’m slowly loosing patience with her.

Hey everyone. Looking to get a used TSX or TL (07-08). As a second car for myself. Anyone have any suggestions. I really love the look of the 08 TL but I cant seem to find a decent one that was taken car of with the right miles, which I get, it's an 11 year old car, so now I'm considering a TSX. I tried to consider the 12' TL but that would be my 3rd choice for a few reasons. 1) I'm not really feeling the look but it is growing on me. 2) its my 2nd car so I'm not really trying have a payment that's over 200 if that. Closer to 150... What do you guys think? Thanks! I may post a few I was looking at.

New MDX Recalls??

I just heard about a new recall for the 17 and 18 Mdx, problems with the Timing Belt. Heard another one for Back Door Seal leaking and has the potential for shorting out the Brake Lights.

Anyone claim to verify...

06' TL Transmission issue

My driver side ball joint snapped, I replaced it and the cv axle. Went to test drive my car and the MT popped out of gear, then when I attempted to shift back into 1st it does't engage the tires to move like it isn't in gear although it is. Where should I start? I did see that the ATF oil was leaking out when I got down to see what is going on. Thank you

HFL working, No Audio. Help Please!!!!!!!!

Hi all, i started my car today only to find out my radio doesn't work. When i press audio button it only shows HFL instructions (see picture) and centre display says HF Link, strangely the centre display stays ON even after ignition is off. I tried everything removing all fuses, all fuses are good. I disconnected HFL module for 30 min but same issue, the HFL is working though (was working before). I tried disconnecting the battery for 15 min with no luck. When i press audio power button nothing happens, i tried going into diagnostics menu by pressing Power+1+6 but no luck. I tried main menu diagnostics by pressing Menu+Map+Cancel and it says Radio working, hfl is good. Is there anyone here who can tell me what's going on? Is my radio dead? I have disconnected the centre display so it doesn't drain my battery. Any help is appreciated.
