I have a 2016 Acura ILX with roughly 590000km (Still being financed) and i just got a call from the dealer saying that an event planned for next week to check their inventory and sell my car for a newer model.
I have been thinking about switching to a 2017 or 2018 TLX V6 SH-AWD. Now, I have been on this forums long enough to know that it is not the best idea to do that.
My question is to know if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing.
So my rdx when I got it was only making 1/4 of the way max on the boost gauge and very hesative past 50% throttle. Went out with wife Saturday on a humid colder rainy day. Started noticing a rattling noise when I was sitting at idle coming from turbo area. If I keep any rpm at all on the car the noise goes away. The crazy thing is it now will boost up to 70%ish on the boost gauge and is wayyyyy more responsive esp on the highway and backroads. The rattle is pretty sketchy sounding and it has never made this rattle before. Also the boost sometimes doesnt drop off when shifting like the wastegate is sticking or something. Could this be shaft play? Or worn out wastegate flapper that May have been sticking open before and now its just rattling? Thats the sounds Im feeling it maybe. I dont want to just start ripping things apart and be down a car. Ive got the flow control actuator I am going to swap soon but my arm and rod end look mint on the car and have no wiggle at all so unless the diaphragm is bad or I have a wonky wastegate or arm I dont know 🤷♂️ I know one or two of you may be frustrated or dont know either but Im not able to spend 600-800 for a turbo or rebuilt at the moment so Im trying to find exactly whats wrong and try to rebuild myself. I think Ive seen enough turbo rebuild videos and am comfortable enough doing it. Any input or things I could test or try would be very much appreciated. Please no negative comments. I just mainly want to know why the weather and moisture would all of a sudden make it go from slow to near normal but have rattling. I mean Ive been driving the car a little pushy trying to break free whatever felt like it was stuck and I guess maybe between that and the weather something came undone lol. Wether it be the wastegate or the turbo got some shaft play. But its very frustrating and me and my wife are goin through hard times and just dont have funds avail or anything to drop 600-700 right now unless I was to do some serious asset selling like sell some of my prized possessions or something. I can afford a few hundred buck repair but thats about it. If in fact it is the wastegate loose is there a fix for that? If its shaft play would it even be safe to rebuild?
I absolutely love the huge glass moonroof on the RDX - especially how it can make the interior feel more spacious at times - its a shame i cannot open it to any other position than just the vent/tilt due to the crazy noise/pressure at any speed above 15-20mph...Anybody else notice this?
Also, for the first time i parked the car with the moonroof opened to full and noticed that the cheap, mesh wind deflector thing is not only useless, but terribly ugly and cheap looking. Granted i drove and pulled the thing down and the pressure/bass in my ears was even worse, but is it just me, or is it impossible to drive more than 15-20mph w/out the ear pressure when all windows are closed. Sure, I can crack the back window and it seems fine, but to me that defeats the purpose a bit...
Curious if there is a solution..maybe a DIY modification to the wind deflector thing???....not sure about this one....
I didn't use nav for a while and now as Spring come, I take RDX for a few road trips and I keep getting this error.
Put new address in, drive about 1 minute, it shows that error in HUD and nav screen goes back to home. Click Navigator to go back to nav screen (address entered still there) and the cycle begins after 30 seconds or less.
It keeps doing that for about 5-10 times before it's stable. I am able to repeat that for 4 times in a row so far.
All my software are up-to-date.
Anyone got similar issue?
Has anyone found a place that sells Side Window Deflectors for the 2019 RDX? WeatherTech does not offer them & the only other brand I found mounts on the outside of the window opening not in the widow channel. The brand I've seen I had tried on my 2014 RDX & I was not that happy with them as the developed small cracks on all 4 within 3 years.
I just noticed today that when I press in and release my clutch pedal, it sounds like a plastic stretch sound is coming from the clutch. Any suggestions of what it can be?
I recently took out my radio to replace the bulbs as they've all gone out for some reason. I picked up some bulbs from Acura a couple months ago since not all my lights were out and have some more on the way. However, after replacing the 3 that I have, they still do not light up. Is there something I'm missing here? All I did was pop the old bulbs out and put the new ones in, turning them with a screwdriver. I've read that there are "positive" and "negative" on them but I did both orientations to no avail. How do I know which side is positive? What am I missing here? :run:
Hey Peeps! Newbie here. I currently own a 2015 CPO CBP TLX SHAWD... she has the espresso interior... I named her coco because shes hot and chocolate....
I just bought the car a month ago.but I've noticed that when I first start my car and it isn't warmed up yet, when I first turn the wheel left(backing out of my driveway etc.) I hear just ine click /pop noise in my front left wheel..but then it won't do it again until my car's been off for awhile ..and also feel like I feel slight vibrations in my gas pedal, like when I hit little bumps in the roads I almost feel my wheels through the gas pedal? And not all the time, but when engaging first gear from a stop or a hill, my car makes a hum and kind of sounds like chewbacca ..does anyone have experience with this?any feedback will help. Thanks a lot
Hello all. I am a new RDX owner and somewhat new to this forum (I have been lurking for weeks). There are a few things I know:
-I have spent months researching this vehicle and others. The only sleep I have lost because of it is the anticipation of getting to drive it again.
-All of the trim levels have something to offer for everyone.
-My seats are red but Im very sure your seats are equally awesome regardless of the color.
-The True touchpad requires a little time a effort to master.
-The DIY section in this forum is awesome. Great ideas and advice.
-My hope is that your RDX will always take you and the people you care about safely to your destination.
Hello!
In my TLX 2019 Speedometer in miles ( part# 78100-TZ4-A31). Anybody have tips on how I find the part numbers for the Speedometer in km, as in Canada?
Thanks

April 21st Sunday@ Cayuga 4pm - 8pm! 2019 Touge.ca #1 of 20+ track event!!
- Season Opener -
Hello all drivers,
We're starting to build a drivers list for the Cayuga track event signup on the April 21st Sunday.
We have the track on Sunday from 4pm - 8pm
A little background -
Cayuga Toronto Motorsports Park. Located in Cayuga, just south of Hamilton, Ontario, this developing Motorsport complex can be configured as two smaller circuits of 1.2 and 1.8 km each or one large 3 km road course. We will use the 3 km circuit. The paved surface is a safe, flat design with good run-off room (no barriers or guardrails) and excellent sight-lines. The course has ample straights, challenging large and small chicanes, tight 90 degree and sweeping high speed turns. A truly good technical course.
It is a great learning track with two long straights, 11 challenging turns, safe run-off everywhere, and a separate area for exercises.
We usually have a briefing prior to getting out on the track, followed by a few warm up laps, then lapping for the rest of the day. "Lapping" refers to just that, doing laps. For beginners group, Passing is STRICTLY prohibited except on the back straight, and only when the person in front of you has allowed you by by signaling you to pass. We reserve all rights to kick people off the track that are driving dangerously and/or aren't listening to track marshalls.
All those interested in attending this track day on April 21st
Please Email me your info below with Email address & contact phone number. Full Name: Car make, model, year, color: Cell#/Home#/Emergency Contacts: License plate# First time / Novice / Intermediate / Advanced: Need an instructor? Email address:

Helmets are strongly recommended for safety reasons, you will have to sign a disclaimer at the track, for those who do not wear helmet and not following our lapping rules, the participants take full responsibility for their action. (if you have helmets, it won't hurt to bring them up).
Note: Helmets are MANDATORY for convertibles.

Planning on doing a sub/ amp installation and would like to know if anyone has a diagram for a 2016 ACURA ILX PREMIUM PACKAGE. Trying to tap into the two rear speakers or a LOC without disassembling the rear deck under the rear windshield. Anything you guys have helps. Thanks!
Hey guys I was wondering! I have owned the 2nd generation -5th generation tl to tlx. My questions is do you think the older gens were faster than the newer ones?
This winter I installed additional lights on the MDX. I do find that the factory lights are good, but what I really wanted was to light up the sides of the highways, to be able to see animals that are approaching the road.
Last night while travelling some dark back highways, I took a couple of phots that show the results. Im quite pleased with how they turned out.
First photo: with factory lights including high beams on: Factory lights with high beams on.
Second photo: with 25,000+ lumens of additional lights! With 25,000+ lumens of additional light!
