Alright folks, I know this has been touched on over and over but I just can't seem to find the solution.
Here's the facts...
2003 CLS6, 100K miles (original belt)
Originally started with misfire codes for all 6 cylinders, random misfires, and something about a B solenoid for my transmission :what:? I get about 220 miles to a tank (premium @ shell) and the car idles rough and seems to be running rich.
First thing I did was replace all of the spark plugs with factory NGKs and check all coilpacks. Everything was working fine but, it didn't fix the CEL or the gas mileage.
Second was to clean the EGR ports and replace the EGR valve. Once again to no avail.
Next, was to seafoam the vacuum line on intake manifold and gas tank. No white smoke, no noticeable change.
Finally, took it to a reputable shop and found the #3 exhaust valve was out of factory spec (tight) and had it adjusted. Car seemed to run and idle smoother, but CEL came back after about 20 miles w/ the same codes aside for the #3 cyl. misfire. After the CEL came on the car would run and idle rough. Mechanic also confirmed that it was indeed running rich.
As of now the CEL will come off and on with no indication as to when/why.
So before I spend anymore money on this car I would like to ask the community for some knowledge or insight.
P.S. Ive read about it possibly being the crank sensor, but the car still hits vtec just fine. Leading me too assume that the crank sensor is functioning correctly.
