Does anybody know how to access the AC compressor connector without removing the compressor? I need to test the clutch to decide if I have to replace the whole thing or not. The shop manual ask to remove the Drive belt, Alternator, and compressor to access the connector. Any other suggestions?
Would someone with experience be kind enough to comment on exactly how the proper range is marked?
Have seen various overlapping/contradicting items online that consider either the smaller square the proper range (a comment online), the long rectangle the proper range (less-than-clear owners manual drawing), and both shapes combined the proper range - with the common central border the ideal "center" to point at (a multi-year TSX service manual graphic).
I don't even use "Auto" anymore. I turn off the AC, because it comes on and off so frequently, and every time it comes on, it makes a loud clunk. Is that normal? It still works; cold air comes out.
Hey guys, new to this community so might not be soo knowledgeable with all the terms or spects but,
I have 2017 Acura ILX tech with stock 17 inch rims and was looking to get 18s with 245/35 all-season tires.
I am looking to get the Enkei Performance Phantom (link below the picture) in 18x8, 40mm offset, 5-114 bolt pattern. I wanted to go with 245/35 tires for the wider look and was wondering would I have any issues in terms of rubbing or anything like that.
Hello all! I have a 2001 CL Type S that I recently bought, lightly crashed, and am in the process of putting back together. Just a light hit but it took out the headlamp assembly on the driver side. I noticed later on that the right front headlamp assembly is trashed as well. Somebody tried a lot of JB weld to fix it but to no avail. I have tried for weeks to find 2 replacement assemblies and I keep getting ones that won't fit. So far, a set from ebay and a set from amazon, both aftermarket of course, advertised to fit an 01 CL but so far, nothing fit. I'm assuming there's a difference in the CL and the CLS lamps, as what I have are HID with the ballasts on the bottom of the assembly. Any Idea where to find a couple assemblies? What years/models will interchange. I don't much care about the HID part, as I have aftermarket HID kits I can install, just need the actual housings. I have an 02 TL and I see there is a major diff. there. Too bad as I have an extra set for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to duck tape some mag lights in the holes and rock it, that's how deep the frustration is running. HELP
Slightly used Aasco aluminum flywheel for TL Type-S or 8th gen Accord with MT.
It has 3k to 4k miles on it. For those that have been following my clutch/flywheel
thread, let me be clear, this is an off-the-shelf flywheel, part number 103216-11.
It is NOT modified and can be used with any stock type clutch setup.
If you want to use it with a stock pressure plate, then I can sell you a brand
new Aisin disc with damping springs for an additional $100.
I might be one of the first 3G RDX owners to get a new transmission. I noticed it was leaking during my DIY oil change a while back and finally got a chance to schedule an appointment with a dealer which offered loaner vehicles. I had a laundry list of issues with the car that have been mentioned on the forum: suspension, dashboard rattles, and brakes.
I received an update that those issues had been addressed and that a replacement transmission would be installed. It's better getting that done now than down the line. I'm glad that my dealer and Acura have been responsive to remedying the issues.
In the mean time, I've been driving a 2019 TLX V6 A Spec as a loaner for the past several days.
Besides actual OEM Honda/Acura Timing belt...Which brand is the best/favored if you cannot get OEM...Dayco, Gates, Koyo, Toho, Bando or Name a brand you had good luck with? I.E Which brand would you pick?
Anyone know what this noise might be? It only happens at cold start in the mornings when I leave for work. I drive about 10 miles to work. Later around noon or even 5pm I fire it back up everything is normal. Thoughts?? Thanks in advance.
This site looks like a great resource. I've owned a few Toyotas (94 Corolla, 03 Tacoma, & 12 Scion iQ) and a 03 WRX. Needed more room and comfort as I'm growing older and settled on a 09 RDX. Powerband felt just like the WRX and I'm settling into it slowly.
Hope to get some good info while I get my RDX tweaked to the way I like it and share what I can along the way.
Anyway around taking my 2008 tls to the dealership to pay 180 for a diagnostics? Battery died over the winter took it out after putting it back in, screen would ask for a 4 number code it took the radio code I think and than I have the nav code which is 5 digits I'm pretty sure, radio nav while deck doesn't turn on except to show DVD disc reading error please consult dealer. Somebody give me something I need music in my car.
Wow...just reviewed the 2020 TLX on Acura.com and I was kinda shocked....nothing new! Question is, will there be a "mid year" release of a Type S....or are they now putting off until a 2021 model.
Still, I'm disappointed since all "indications" were pointing to cool stuff for 2020. The '18 and '19 A-Spec versions are pretty nice....I had an '18 white/red. For me...only issue with all Models is the push button trans!! But, the car
overall was quiet, comfy, quick and fun to drive with the SH-Awd system. I miss mine, but, it sat too much in the garage and....life happens. Sometimes I move on too fast....and some times for necessary reasons. Love my
new '19 MDX Advance.
Look like Acura will be making ASpec + Advance models of the TLX and MDX. I recall people saying they wished the RDX had both packages. Your wish might be coming true.
Anybody find an organizer of some kind? I hate how it's just a big junk collector.
Also anybody use a good armrest cover? I know my dogs will mess it up eventually. There are some generic ones on Amazon but they don't have any reviews
Actually I bought already 2 rear rotors and 2X2 pads for 45$ from Nakamoto. https://www.am-autoparts.com/2003/Ac...RoCsocQAvD_BwE
So what would be line of thinking here? Anyone used in past Nakamoto? Al part stores wanted for just one rotor 36$. So two rotors and pads would cost me almost 100$. What are best brands of rotors?
Instrument panel stopped working all
of a sudden. No panel backlighting, all gauges (speedo, tach, fuel, etc.) wont operate. A few warning lights stay on (ABS, VSA, Brake, Airbag) upon starting, car runs fine. All other electrical working fine. Checked fuses inside and out and all looked good. Took to dealer and they told me $1200 to replace instrument panel....Hoping for another, less costly fix....thanks for your help!
