So I did an oil change on my 1997 2.2l Cl a couple days ago, because my "maintenance required" light came on, and I had been putting off the oil change, because I didn't have money at the time.
Obviously at first everything was going fine, and I drove to work the next morning (it's 23 miles there, and 23 miles back), and I got home with no problem. But I'm just feeling paranoid about losing oil, because this is the first oil change I've done on this specific car, and the filter wasn't as easy to get to compared to the 240 I had, and the S10 that I had.
I checked the oil level when I got home from work the next day, and it seemed kinda low, so I just put a little bit more in, and it's sitting halfway between the markers.
Also, whenever I shut off my car or in the midst of driving it, I keep thinking that I'm getting a wiff of a burnt oil/old oil smell, and I don't know where to really look when it comes to this. I don't see any oil leaking, and maybe some oil just dropped on the exhaust when I changed it and it's burning off of there, so it could be nothing, but I'd rather ask, than keep quiet.
Yeah, it may be nothing, but I'd like to know if anyone has had this problem, what it was, and how they fixed it.
Better safe than sorry I guess. :wish:
