so i know its been touched upon kind of randomly but i didnt see a thread that touched on this specifically.
first off i finally found a guy to build a custom box for my trunk. dude really knew his stuff when it came to specifics of my box and was very patient with me when answering my noobish questions about general things like hz and proper porting and channeling inside of the box. im glad i was able to find him.
anyway upon further conversation he mentioned that he also does custom center consoles. now ive already gathered parts to do my own center console. fabric, acrylic plastic, led lighting etc etc but ive been having trouble planning out the layout of how i actually want to place everything.
SO HERES MY ACTUAL QUESTION (sorry needed to give the breakdown first)..
im trying to do an ipad mini install while being able to keep my z120bt head unit. i realize that i can just make the ipad mini my head unit and save all the trouble but i like the features of my head unit and i know there are things the pioneer can do that the ipad wont be able to do. problem is the climate control. has anyone been able to relocate the climate control panel?. if youre thinking "dude where would you even put it"...well if its possible to relocate it then i would install the ipad there, have the pioneer z underneath it, then climate control. as far as the hazard, clock, fog light switch, AS WELL as the diagnostics plug, i would just relocate them as well (hazard and fog light switch i would put at the bottom of the gear shift consoleand the diag plug i would put maybe in the glove or somewhere thats a little easier to get to.
the guy who is fabricating my sub box said that itd be an easy job building your console if you can see if you can relocate the climate control. i was able to draw up a sketch for him of what i wanted (the sketch included vip table attached to the console for the passenger side) and told me that itd be doable.
can anyone shed any light? i realize that this is probably very extensive AND expensive, but the price i was quoted was SO good that i couldnt pass it up hahah.
