I have an 03 CLS6 with 160K miles. I love the car and have had it for almost 3 years now. It has always had this issue with starting where it takes at least 3 to 5 cranks to get it to start. It ALWAYS starts on the first turn of the key but it just doesn't start on the first crank like other Hondas I have owned. It seems to have gotten slightly worse lately. Last year I put new NGK Iridium plugs in it and this did not make any difference at all. The battery is strong and has been replaced, so that's not the problem. It's not a huge deal because, like I said, it always starts but I am wondering if it is an indication of a possible problem.
Something else that it does that may or may not be related is a slight hesitation on acceleration. It doesn't really seem to matter how hard I accelerate, what gear I am in or whether it is hot or cold. It is not severe at all but definitely noticeable. I am wondering if the fuel pump/filter could be causing both problems.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I am describing. Better yet, has anyone else dealt with similar problems? Thanks in advance for any input.
