Navigation screen only replacement, need new code?

I just bought 01 CL-s with navigation. The screen is in bad condition, and I see replacements on Ebay for under $100. I am just wondering if the unlock code will change with the screen, or tied to the trunk unit? I have the original unlock code that is working fine. Does anyone know the answer, have you replaced the screen only?
