2015 Adaptive Cruise Control & MPG

Still in my first month of ownership, but took a 600 mile road trip. Mostly highway driving and I got to extensively test the adaptive cruise control (plus the "lane control").

For moderate traffic the adaptive cruise control is super. Very little effort needed by the driver, but in heavier traffic, I felt that I was riding with a teenager with the more aggressive braking and acceleration. I'm sure this negatively impacted the gas mileage.

I also tried the stop and go mode as travelling through the heavier traffic on I5 through Seattle. That part was much more worrisome: the car would stop, but I was always a bit concerned that the breaking was too late and too hard (potentially encouraging a rear end collision from any car behind) and so I switched over the manual.

Also, the Lane Keep Assist System started to grow on me during the trip. In the end after the 1st half of the trip (4+ hours) I actually was less tired than normal.

All in all, the best road trip ever for moderate to light highway cruising.
