With the new ILX, is it possible to downshift using the paddle shifters to engine brake the car? This may sound like a stupid question, but I overheard that the new Jetta hybrid decouples the engine from the wheels when you let off the gas and the brakes have to do all of the work (I know it is a completely different type of car, but it also has a dual clutch transmission like the ILX).
