Casting plastic

When I was younger, I used to be into costuming, and even had my own Halo costume. More importantly however, was that I learned the techniques to make and cast plastic parts. The creator of the forum I was on actually made a master chief costume simply by getting his hands on a statue, and casted the armor from it.

My main question is, with all the people on this forum, has anyone ever tried or thought about casting the popular aesthetic oem parts, such as the window visors and/or the Type-S decklid?
