I have been having a, apparently common, problem, I have seen many post concerning this same problem, with my 2001 Acura CL-S 3.2 L shutting off while driving. Intermittent has turned to will not stay running. I gather there is a limp mode on these vehicles? I replaced the battery four weeks ago and had the alternator rechecked, it checked good. I had no trouble, except for flickering of headlights, until on the way home from church Sunday. The car lost power to the gauges, AC, and radio, barley got it out of the intersection. After hours of research online I r&r the main relay and had gauges when restarted. Only, I could jump the car but it stopped running after taking of the jumper cables. This points to the alternator, so I had the new battery recharged and was able to get the car home and to an alternator shop where they say the alternator is not putting out. I ran a couple of errands, I figured the car would run as long as the battery had a charge, I was wrong. It lost power to the gauges, AC, and radio, it went into what I'll call limp mode and I barely made it home. Now I am not so certain there isn't another problem somewhere else besides the alternator. I plan on removing and caring toi the shop for rebuilding, as the remans are so expensive, new the Denso's are $300, can rebuild for no more than $69. Any ideas as far as other possible issues or problems I should be aware or and should checkout? Thank you in advance for any and all help, it is greatly appreciated.
