I just connected a brand new battery and still no power anywhere. Here's what I think caused the problem; when I first connected the new battery I mistakenly switched the cables and placed the red cable on the negative side and the negative cable on the positive side. That's because the new battery has posts in the opposite location from the old battery. It was dark and I didn't notice it right away. As soon as I connected the positive cable the horn went off with a constant sound not the pulsing sound when the alarm is activated. I immediately disconnected the cable and went inside to do some research. I found a few suggestions stating that I insert the key into the door lock and lock and unlock the door a few times with the battery cable connected and the horn blaring. I also inserted the key into the ignition and cycled it on and off a few times but no luck. I then reinstalled the old battery correctly and hooked up jumper cables but now there's no power anywhere. It's dead as a door nail. Did I blow a main fuse?
