Hey everyone i just bought a 2004 acura tl. It has 230,000 km on it. Although the high mileage i got a pretty good deal on it and it has brand new snow tires on it. I got it for $4000 flat. Apart from the comestic scratches here and there and other stuff the car runs fine.
Now im aware these transmissions go. Its an automatic and im not sure if the transmission is going or not or if its normal. I havent driven auto in years. But the engine does rev a bit then it feels like it engages a second later. I also feel the car shift sort of. Nothing crazy no jerks but u feel the gears changing not sure if thats normal. A few people have driven the car and they all say 0-60 it shifts very smoothly. So is the 1-2 second lag normal ? It catches and goes quick but sometimes if i go 80% throttle it reves up and takes like a second to catch.
Also the oil life meter on the dash. When i bought the car it had 80% oil life and ever since has kept going down. Im assuming the previous owner recently changed the oil before i bought it ?? Also how do i reset it when i change oil or does it automatically do it.
Thanks guys. This car is my daily driver and so far its amazing.
