Bent- AC compressor pulley.

Is the only way to fix my squeaky car is to replace the whole AC compressor? I took it in and the shop said it was a bent pulley causing the squeaking belt sound and the only way to stop it was to replace a perfectly working AC compressor. Can you unbend the pulley?
What are the risk if I continue to drive?
Also, 650.00 is what they quoted ..does that seem far if it is the only way?

Oh, and I had the belt changed without success.
