Prologue Cliffs:
Can't stop keg from pouring nothing but foam. Temp is right, PSI is right. :ugh:
----
When we bought our house I put together a kegerator. It's an old fridge my mother had that I modded up with a kegerator kit. By modding I mean because I wanted the tap on the upper freezer door I had to destroy the barrier between the fridge and the freezer.
Anyway, it's worked great and I've never had a problem. I've probably had 6-8 kegs in there so far, mostly Yuengling. I always keep it cold (38*) and the PSI around 10-12.
So I had a party two weekends ago and I got a new keg the weekend before that. Tapped it no problem, still had o2 left from the previous keg, and it poured great for that entire week before the party. The night before the party the o2 went empty. So the next morning I went and got a new one. It worked fine for a couple pitchers.
During the party though the PSI was spiking up to 30. Reluctantly I purged it and it worked for a couple hours then went back up. Purge, back up. I was too drunk and too busy to diagnose.
So 3-4 days later when a glass of beer didn't disgust me I went down to pour one. Nothing came out. I thought to myself, did I purge a new tank in one party? No way right? So I checked everything and sure enough, my thermo said the beer was 28*.
Long story short, I've equalized both the pressure and the temperature, but I can't get it to stop pouring 95% foam. I've probably filled up 8 pitchers of foam.
Any tips? I've searched all over and most issues people have I feel like I've covered already.
