permanent wiper streak on windshield

I have a permanent streak from the wiper blade on the driver's side, that I have tried everything to get off. I used a razor blade with Glass cleaner , used fine steel wool 0000 with glass cleaner, used rubbing alcohol, nothing has taken it off. It follows the exact line of the wiper and is 3" wide, faint, but enough to bother you when driving.


I have run my nail over it, to see if it is a permanent scratch and cannot tell if it is a scratch or not. I'm about to bring it into the glass shop or windshield shop. So before I get charged lots of cash, I'm turning to acurazine first.
