Ive got this dreaded 3G car alarm issue where it randomly goes off for no apparent reason. Im at my wits end. Ive searched this forum for weeks to come up with the fixes Ive completed thus far. I read how one guy simply sold his car. He was that sick of the problem. I laughed. Im not laughing anymore.
What Ive replaced with new parts so far:
* Power door lock actuators in all 4 doors
* All 4 black dome light switches in door jams
* New trunk lock/latch
* New hood lock/latch
At this point its becoming an issue of whats the car really worth. If it costs $1,500 at the dealer to diagnose it then forget it. Consider it one more TL going to the scrapyard. Other than this the car is in perfect shape but I cannot have the cops called on me every night (and I cant leave my doors unlocked), and I cant have it going off at work anymore. Security is pissed.
What else is there? Im tired of throwing money and parts at it with no real idea for what the reason is. So far a lot of people have ideas about how to fix it from reading the forums but these people havent really had the problem themselves.
Any help is extremely appreciated!!! Im tired of disconnected the negative battery terminal everywhere I go. I thought of putting a kill switch in it... but one shouldnt have to do that and its pretty extreme.
