Backup (Reverse) Light Bulbs - Dim?

I was looking at the owners manual tonight and noticed that the reverse lights are standard 21W bulbs. At night, these seem a bit dim to me.


I'd like to hear other owners opinions of them. Could they be replaced with LED backup lights?
