I'm new here and contemplating buying the new TLX. I know the Acura and Accord are different cars but both share Honda's build trait to a certain degree. I test drove the 2014 Accord V6 and 4cyl, did not like the cvt 4cyl and the Accord V6 even though it was a powerful had some characteristics I did not like. The V6 has a slight vibration at around 1500-1800 rpm (VCM?), felt "heavy", and my biggest gripe was that you could not cruise to a red light, stop sign or whatever have you. The car just kept "engine braking", and you would have to keep pushing on the gas pedal to get to the red light. At certain speeds the car would engine brake and slow the car down, that was truly annoying. On the highway cruising is fine but in stop and go or in light traffic that engine braking was the pits.
I would like to know from those of you who bought the TLX V6, do you experience the engine braking? Does the 4cyl TLX (those of you that have one) allow you to cruise to a red light? Is the TLX V6 smooth, does it seem to hunt for gears? I want a car with power but also be enjoyable to drive. I will eventually have to test drive the Acura, but for now just trying to get some information and maybe some insight before test driving the Acura so I know what to look for.
