Hi All,
Im new to this forum. I have a '98 2.3CL 5 speed with 150k miles on it.
Recently, its stalling while driving, at highway or low speeds. The engine just cuts out, but the instrument panel, radio, fans etc. still work. If I try to re-start it, it sometimes it takes 4 or 5 tries. When trying to re-start, it cranks fine, but doesnt start. Sometimes it starts for a few seconds and then dies right away. Pressing the accelerator right after it starts makes no difference, it doesnt respond and dies out. A few times, I got it started, then drove a few 100 feet and it stalled again. It seems to happen more in very hot weather. I changed the main fuel pump relay, but problem is still there. It runs fine other times, no issues misfiring, sluggish performance etc. The fuel pump turns on when ignition is in ON position (i can hear it whirr). CEL is off. It used to be on for over a year (O2 sensor), but recently its been off.
Any ideas? I think its a no fuel getting to engine issue, caused by some electrical issue. Thanks in advance for any help.
