Looking for Homelink/Map Light Wiring diagram

Hi everyone - I've got a map light with homelink I've pulled from a 99 2.3CL, I've got power to the two map lights and the switches function properly, but I am not getting the indicator light to turn on when i push the homelink buttons. Is this normal? I want to make sure my wiring is proper for the 3 pin plug connecting to it. My car has a 2 pin, with the absence of the center pin. I need to know if that center pin is a functional requirement for the homelink assembly or if it is just for the lights to come on when you open the doors.
