Hey fellow AZiners,
I have an awful noise coming out of the driver's side of my Type S. It only happens when the brakes are applied and I'm slowing down to a complete stop. I thought it was the brakes at first since it only happened when braking but I took it to two different mechanics (one which specializes in Honda/Acuras) and a brake specialist. Both mechanics said that my brakes were in great condition and didn't need to be changed.
Now for a little background on the car, it is unfortunately a salvage car. The car was fixed by private dealer that I have used in the past with no problems. I later took the car to a body shop because the Acura specialist noticed that there was damage to the frame of the car. When the body shop guys looked at it they noticed that the engine cradle mounts had been damaged and moved to adjust the alignment on the car. I was quoted $2800 to fix the mounts and replace the parts, but with no guarantee that the noise would stop.
I have attached a short audio clip of the noise to make it easier. If any of you guys could possibly help me out and let me know exactly whats wrong and what can be done and cost would be great. Sorry I'm not a big technical guy so I'm explaining things as I've been told.
