I'm looking for a new or used car. It needs to be a sedan since I need 4 doors for my daughter. I really love the looks of the blue 08 TL Type S, I really like the interior and would love having something a little sporty/peppy.
But wow are the used market prices ridiculous! I know this was an expensive car new, but I can't seem to find anything in decent shape for less than 17k minimum (most good ones around 20k), and those still have 80k or more miles! That seems like an awful lot to spend on a used car with such high miles. What's going on with prices?
I would love to have one, but I just don't know if I can bring myself to spend THAT much on a 7 year old car with such high mileage...
I have always been a big advocate of used cars because they are such great values (mainly from saving depreciation). But with prices (and miles!!) that high it seems like your not really saving anything!
I have been on the fence about getting one of them but have also been considering a brand new Mazda 6. I can get a brand new, or one year old model, with hardly any miles, no worries about how well it's been maintained, more amenities, and better gas mileage for just a little over 20k. Granted not as sporty, but everything else about it is fantastic and I won't have to worry about rebuilding engines, transmission, etc.. shortly after buying it.
Like I said I would love to have something a little sportier and love the 08 TL's... but that economical side of me is just really nagging...
