So I bought a civic but the moonroof fabric is ripped and its unglueing from the foam backing. Anyone know of any glue or have any ideas to fix it?

New key for spare hondata ecu/immobilizer
I have an 05 TSX with about 165K miles. Years ago I purchased an 04 ECU, immobilizer and 1 key for the hondata reflash (This was prior to the availability of the reflash on the 05 tsx).
It worked great... However, a year ago I lost the car key and I was forced to swap back to the stock 05 ecu/immobilizer/key. The hondata reflashed 04 ecu and immobilizer have been in my home collecting dust ever since. I want to plug it back in again but I need another key. Can anyone recommend the easiest and cheapest route to get a matching key? I've read about locksmiths doing it. I live in the north jersey area.

Old Acura Member back in the community!
Well guys after a 5 year hiatus driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT wagon and having tons of problems with it. I have sold it and moved onto a 2005 Acura TL base. I would have liked to get a newer better model but they all had way to many miles on them for me to even consider!

Mackies progression? kinda.
hope you guys dont mind but im gonna copy and paste the whole thread.
Hey guys. my names mackie. noob at this forum, obviously. im an acura tech here in virginia but ill be relocating in the west coast in august. ive been lurkin the forum for months now. finally registered and now making this thread.
i come fro building this
3rd gen preludes. the odd balls of odd balls. slowly being discontinued. even the rear upper balljoint you cant get from the dealerships anymore. even japan has rarely anything for it. we usually use parts from other hondas to make it work and keep that chassis relevant so im accustomed to oddball builds. i kinda like it actually that not alot of people have what i have/building.
anyway. on to the build/progression thread.
the prelude build came to an abrupt halt that id rather not talk about so i went to look for my next ride. i figured i wanted a 4 door this time. ive been working professionally for honda/acura for 5 years now and i like the product so i knew i wanted to stay under the honda umbrella. thought of all the 4 doors and the budget i had going for me. someone at work suggested this generation RL. i came home that day thinking about what he said. i realized that this chassis is about the few honda makes thats doesnt really have that much problems (compared to all the transmissions ive done to other v6 honda makes).
i went on a little research and came to this forum. saw what you guys are doing and some particular builds/cars sealed the deal for me. took me a few months to finally find one in my price range and condition im willing to work with.
the day she came home with me. the deal took about 2 weeks since i had to go for an interview the day after i got a hold of the previous owners. between the bank and the unwilling owners and a 2 week absence, it took awhile but i got her home.
theres alot of litle things with the car. biggest issue i had was this.
i had buffed the car and took all the paint transfer off. there is about 3 dents on that door and that spot thats beginning to rust. the dents arent really noticable and neither is that spot but ill be trying to take care of that asap.
the CEL is on for a right knock sensor and cat converter. the srs light is on for the opds unit/sensor. ill take care of these when i have more time and get settled in out west. meh.
of course i couldnt just sit there and not do anything to the car. i had some leds laying around from the prelude. i used what i can/had on her. at 1am. on a saturday night. i was bored.
map lights
had a few festoon bulbs for the courtesy lights.
so far these have been your normal superbrightleds bulbs.
had some blue t10s i wanted to try. they came out like mood lighting on the newer tls and rls though lol.
next i worked the headlights.
so far i havent spent money on this but that didnt last long... i look and i find shit i want. its an addiction i tell yah.
found a nardi for pretty cheap. i opted for the black center to match the interior a bit. i might wrap the "wood" interior closer to the wheels color as far as the wood. i want to use a short hub adapter with the resistor and a quick release.
the wheels needs a little works and hardware
a little comparison of the between both woods.
not long after i found these. they came off of a tl. yes theyre used. he had aggressive wheels that hit the bodies a little. i figured for the price i them it wasnt a bad deal at all so i had to jump on it.
from what i understand, the tophats that works for the front with the studs and rear works without spacers.
i had them shipped to were ill be living in the west cost. so i wont even see them until august. ive never bought anything and wait that long just to even see them. i just have to ship the car from coast to coast to really start getting in to it.
i bought lights from the seller warden_jp
the t10s that they sell is too long for the map lights
and got the cluster converted. the t6.5 they sell is a bit small, that or the sockets i have are old or something. i had to move all the prongs inside each socket just to even hold the bulbs. after that i had to rig the cluster to turn the lights on so i can adjust each bulb in each socket and find polarity just to make them work. after a couple of hours i finally had all of them working (or so i thought) when i put the cluster back together, one of the bulbs moved enough to loose contact as seen.
also if you order from warden_jp. theyre "warm white" is not white at all. i ordered the festoon bulbs they have that says "warm white" and the picture they posted was white but when i got the bulbs theyre actually the stock bulb color with the yellowish tint. i was livid to say the least. they told me i should have looked at the picture they posted in which i did and saw the picture being white. anyway im sending them back and getting a refund for them. aside from that their lights are actually pretty well made and are a little cheaper than superbrightleds.
ive done some maintenance on the car. all the flushes i could. aligned the car yesterday. uhm. what else. i think thats it for now.
like always comment, suggestions and constructive criticisms are always welcome!

TSX-R Lens Retrofit
Hello,
Has anyone ever did TSX-R lens retrofit on their TL? I am really curious since I really love the difference between stock and the retrofitted lens.
Thanks

How Long Do You Plan on Keeping Your Z?
Just curious, how long does everyone plan on keeping your ZDX? I only drive about 7,500 miles per year so I plan on keeping mine for at least 10+ years. I think it has just the right combination of exterior styling and a nice enough interior to sustain the test of time. Nice job Acura.

That Feeling When You See A Car Like Yours on the Highway
Random Thought: I rarely see other Z's in my area, but yesterday I spotted one on the opposite side of the highway and I must say the ZDX looks pretty bad ass while in motion. The one I saw was palladium metallic just like mine but had to be a 10, 11, or 12 based on the beak. I still believe we own of the best looking and most unique vehicles on the road.

ATLP V2 jpipe for 08 TL with stage 3 exhaust mod
I have done stage 3 mod to my TL and it sounds amazing. But now I want to add some performance mods without breaking my wallet. So I was thinking about adding ATLP v2 jpipe and race pipe or a cai. But I heard, adding a jpipe to a stage 3 mod will make raspy sound since I have dynomax 24215. But then I did some research, and I heard some say that it will only make it raspy if I delete the 3rd cat. So if I just get ATLP v2 jpipe without race pipe(deletes 3rd cat), will it be ok? has anybody with stage 3 done this mod yet?

18x10 set up "Stance"
Acuraziners!! I was wondering if you guys can help me achieve the perfect negative camber and fitiment up front in my UA4 and what i mean by perfect is to tuck and sit flush within my fenders with no poke.
this is what i have going on right now
Okay, so my main concern is how do i get the front to be "HellaFlush," in other words what do i need as in parts and what do i need to do to make this work. As of right now i have the Ingalls upper control arm with positive plates (+1° to +4°) because i was riding on stock type S wheels for a little while and was lowered. When i tried to put on the XXR521 with the positive plates the wheel stuck out like a sore thumb, so i install the stock upper control arm back and the camber was better but not good enough. Now if i purchase the ingalls negative plates (-2° to +1-1/4°) would this so the trick or would i need more, such as alignment bolts and kits or other kits? Please let me know Thank you.
Please don't tell me what i am doing is ridiculous because there are a handful of 2nd gens out there with the same exact set up and specs. Thank you.
Thanks for the help!
Pictures!
As for the rear i have not dialed in the kits yet
My front coilover is not really maxed out it was just a test to see how much natural camber i would get with the stock upper control arm and i didnt get what i wanted, so do not mind that.
Wheels on with stock upper control arms
Ingalls upper control arm with positive plates
Wheels on with the positive plates............ridiculous
this is what i have going on right now
- ISC Coilovers
- Rear lower Ingalls camber kit or smart arm
- Upper Wicked Tuning camber arms
- Rear is rolled and trim
- Wheels - XXR 521 18x10 + 25
- Tires - Falken ziex ze912 235/40/18
- Front control arm is stock

Headlight Blew Out
I have been running Kaixen 6000k bulbs and love them.
I was driving my '04 TL and noticed my passenger headlight slowing turning green. It stayed green for maybe a hour or so then completely went out. I figured it just burnt out so I ordered a replacement pair. Upon removing the bulb, I was greeted by a burning smell. Seems the bulb basically exploded. I added pictures so you guys can see what I'm talking about. How can I fix this and what could have caused it?

Airrex/Accuair Bag Setup+Cemetery+Photoshoot = ....
So I picked up my TL on Tuesday and drove it more than I have in the last few days more than I have in almost a year. I have been having a clutch installed along with a lot of other big projects and the most recent being a full air ride install. Running Accuair management, soon to be E-level should've got it in the first place, but for now its switchspeed. Airrex struts, viair compressors, Dakota digi gauge. I have been wanting to do a shoot in a cemetery for a while now and finally got together with my boy Zeke with Woodrow Adams Photography (Hardwood productions on Instagram) and we put together a nice little shoot. These are a few of the pics hes sent me so far more to come soon. Let me know what you think !
I'm sorry if you take offense for me doing this in a cemetery... I don't mean any disrespect to the dead but I just thought it looked really cool and my car fits that dark/dreary image of a cemetery. We wanted to do later in the day but the grounds crews would be shutting down so we couldn't.

99 TL rough idle after motor swap
Hello,
I swapped the motor due to the old one ceasing for unknown(to me) reason. Everything is done before swapping the replacement motor in, timing belt, water pump, idler pulley, tensioner, new spark plugs. So it started just fine but after a few seconds it started to idle rough. After a while it stays at 1500 rpm bouncing slightly and TCS light comes on. Any help would be appreciated!
video of the problem is attached.
Thank you!

My new baby's already sick ;(
So last night driving home from the in-laws I noticed the Power Steering was making a noise, so I planed to phone the dealership and have that checked out today anyway...
Drove to work uneventful.
Parked went in, about 20 min later I realized I'd left my phone plugged into the charger on the center console, so back out I went....
Only to find this horrific Exxon Valdez scene!:
Swatch:
Off to the Hospital via Emergency Transport, was unwilling to risk driving it, even though it *probably* would have been O.K. Figured, why risk it.
Sad, but glad it will be addressed rather than having something happen while under driving conditions.
The silver lining is all the punch list 'we owe you' items that I pointed out while taking delivery and had written up will be taken care of while they have it as well, so....
Is what it is...sigh...I've heard that absence makes the heart grow founder but I only got to have her for 2 days really. :whyme:

LED License plate light
Hey all!
I am wondering which LED license plate bulbs you guys are running? I know the bulb type is 168, but on my last car I kept buying bulbs that were too long and wouldn't fit into the housing properly.
If anyone has a direct link to the bulb where they bought it from (Vleds etc.), that would really help!
Thanks!
