Old Acura owner back in the game!
Hey guys just wanted to say hi. I have been an Acura guy for some time now. I have owned 5 Acuras in the past and moved to try another company, Subaru. Well lets just say that after 3 engines and 3 turbos I am back with the Acura Community. I hope to add some of my knowledge here as well as gain a lot about these TL's for I have only owned Integras and an RSX in the past. So far I will say that this 05 TL is amazing and is putting a smile on my face every day! I will get some pictures up sometime tomorrow. As for mods I'm not going to go too crazy for my taste in mods is very different than others. Much like what I did to my subaru I am going to try and upgrade some things Via OEM and plug and play. When that will happen money will tell but until then I am just going to enjoy this fine piece of automotive wonder.

03 Acura Tl Ac clutch not engaging
HI, I have a 03 acura tl that I installed a new ac compressor on about a year ago. I had to replace it because i was no longer working, well, after I put the new one in vacuumed the system and recharged. The ac blew cold for no more than 2 seconds and has not blown cold since. The AC Clutch is not clicking on, iv checked fuses and relays and there is voltage to the compressor and can not figure out for the life of me what is wrong. Could I possibly have a bad compressor and need to replace that one also, any Ideas or tricks is greatly appreciated. Thanks for any ideas...

Idle in Park and Drive
I have had a long line of Acuras and my 2014 seems a bit rough in the idle department, but only when the car is engaged in drive with the compressor or fan running.
I have owned a 2013 Acura TL, 2010 v6 TSX, and 2001 TL and non felt this rough when the Ac kicks on drive.
On N and P its butter smooth.
Its pretty much to the point where my wife also notices.
Took it to the dealer and the smart ass tells me thats the engine valves going up and down..:angryfire:

2003 type s w/nav "rpm fluctuation"
recently purchased 03 type s w/nav. 196,975 mi. very nice vehicle, with the original transmission. the problem is so slight as to be almost unnoticeable or may be a non problem and i am just imagining the rpm "fluctuation". the fluctuation occurs, or seems to occur after the car has been driven approx. one half - one mile from cold. i seem to notice or imagine that i notice a slight rpm fluctuation within ( 200 to 300 ) rpm. the car is in third gear or has just shifted into fourth at speeds between 32 and 38 miles per hour. i have researched the first 25 pages of the second gen. tl (problems and fixes) forum, tried the refined search technique and so far have not found any issue discussed with a symptom remotely similar to mine. there are no codes present, the car provides consistently acceptable economy and performance and i just want to make the car as perfect as i can make it. this nice a vehicle deserves the best. any ideas, experiences or knowledge relative to this issue would be appreciated.

Hi Speed's race engine swap
As some of you may know I bought Libert's built low compression engine after his accident. Since then I have been gathering the parts needed to for the install over the past year and I am final ready for install. The engine was dropped off at the machine shop today to have the valve seals replaced and the car is headed over on Monday to start the install. I don't have a truck, so I had a flat bed tow truck transport the engine on a stand to the machine shop. This saved me the trouble of renting a truck or damaging the engine and my wife's SUV.
I have gone back and forth over the year as to wether I should replace the clutch discs in Libert's clutch. The discs look pretty new, but I kept thinking they should be replaced while I have the transmission off the car. The problem is, Tilton ( the clutch maker ) no longer makes this style of clutch and the new style is a 4 puck more aggressive disc. After going back and forth with a number of vendors and the custom non returnable nature of the discs if they dont fit, I decided to stick with the discs that Libert was running in this clutch.
I don't have any pics of the engine on the tow truck, but will get some of the install as it progresses. I am really excited to start driving the TL again, the blow by and super poor gas mileage were really taking the fun out of driving.
I am still running the super rich tune (12.1 idle and 11.5 durring normal non boost driving ) that I got when I installed the mega squirt 3 and even freeway mileage is 15 ish. Poor mileage led to driving in boost more often to make the gas usage worth it and that of course lead to even worse mileage. I am looking forward to running a more normal AFR and getting a ton more power while getting better mileage.

Inner wheel clearance question
Does the strut or any part of the suspension get closer to the wheel/tire when lowering the cu2 1 to 2 inches with no camber kit and/or aligned toe?
Also, does a negative camber of 1 to 2 degrees bring the tire any closer to the strut or suspension compared to the same wheels with stock camber?

New owner of a 2010 TL!
Hey all, I just bought a black 2010 acura tl, and so far I love it. I'm lookin for some great ideas to customize it. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of adding white trim and rims but I don't really know how it'd look. Anyways if you need advice on buying a car, let me know! I'm pretty experienced in the car buying process.

Finally used Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) on the ZDX. I rarely used cruise control on my RL, except for when I drove it from northern VA to northern CA. However, I think ACC actually makes cruise control useful.

Possible Bad Starter NEED HELP FAST
Hey everybody! We purchased a 2007 RDX with 107,000 miles just over a month ago and it seems that the start has already gone out. We are two days away from needing to use it for a road trip when this happened and I'm needing to fix this quickly if possible.
Let me explain the situation to make sure I am on the right track thinking it is the starter. When we first purchased the vehicle I noticed that it would sometimes take 3 or 4 cranks before it would turn the engine over. To me, that seemed abnormal but it seemed to always turn over. I work from home so at one point the car sat in the driveway for several days with no use. I went to start it and it started to crank up but didn't turn over and you could literally hear the starter losing power. I immediately tried again and it just clicked, it seemed the starter didn't fully engage. I checked the voltage on the battery and it came up low (can't remember the reading exactly). I proceeded to jump the car with another car I own and it started with the normal 3 or 4 cranks. I let it run for a few minutes and I turned it off. Immediately after this I tried to crank it without jumping it and just the click. So I tried to jump it again and this time it wouldn't even start with a jump!
I figured it was the starter but the easiest thing I could think about doing was replacing the battery. I purchased a brand new battery, put it in, and no go, same thing. Just a click when I attempted to start. At this point I figured it had to be a starter. I took the battery back and spoke to a man at the auto parts store and shared all this information with him. He said, it's your starter, no doubt.
I'm a DIY kind of guy but don't consider myself to be a mechanic by any means. If I am given diagrams and how to then I am up to any challenge. I can't seem to find a how to guide for replacing a starter with an RDX. I need help locating the starter and honestly I am not even sure that it is the issue here.
I've got 2 days to figure this out or my family is SOL so hopefully someone is able to assist me with this. I really appreciate it in advance!

Hey there guys I've been on this site for quite some time now, finally decided to start a build thread. I'm from South Florida and I drive an '11 a/t BCP CU2, I have a lot planned for this car and I'm now beginning to purchase mods. Experimented with Plasti-Dip but stock seems to look best to me
Purchased Megan EZ Street Coilover they give a great ride no complaints for the quality ride these coilovers offer Dampers set in the middle
Car is slammed as far as clearing the front fender goes natural camber is 4.5 rear 1.3 front
Purchased some Orange LED DRLs for the car they definitely give the car a more aggressive look
Custom fit a Type S rep lip to my bumper, tons of work and lost it on the highway guess it just wasn't meant to be
Wheels are on the way I'm pretty stoked :thumbsup:
